Sue Hetadorr-Enormay: Treat the Chavinist swine like the rest; use Hit things with other things, or maybe Shoot little guns (she's avoided using Shoot big guns indoors ever since she brought the house down.); she's a Macho Women with guns character, what do you expect?

Emily Cascara: She's bisexual. Which one does she get? Whoever had better be ready to be the bottom tho'

    C. Claudius Centho Cornelianus Compelletor: I can't figure out how he got from 1231 AUC Rome to "modern day" comicbookland. Any event, he'd be bluntly rude, telling Tony Stark to go to Greece.

  3. Re: WWYCD/W:The gift

Emily Cascara: "What?! I haven't begged and pleaded the universe enough?! I have to go over it all again?! Fine!" Grab Santa, pin him to the wall, and scream her life story into his face. Probably forget herself and choke him half to death. PS: You don't want to know her life story. Unless you want the downer of all time.

Sue Hetadorr-Enormay: "Oh *$&@, another Psychotic Psanta." Sigh. "I'll try to Macho him out, then blow him apart into Monster Chow™"

    C. Claudius Centho Cornelianus Compellator: Once the deal was explained to him, he'd be "Ah, some sorcery of the Traitor Faith." Then he'd signal the sacerdos to counter-charm, his best sagittarii and his decurions to hang back, and then have his men dog-pile the traitor. Who'd be hauled off to the torture chambers and everything he knows squeezed out of him. "We cannot let the Traitor Faith start to take root in Roma again!"

And a Marley Xmas to you too, Boo-boo. :eg:

  4. Re: What would your character do #56?

You have just been involved in a long and exhausting adventure and now that the day is saved again thanks to you you finally go to bed to get some sleep.

You wake up the next morning feeling rather strange. You then look down at yourself and realize you have been changed overnight into your opposite sex!

    What do you do?!

    C. Claudius Centho Cornelianus Compellator---get the sacerdos to remove the curse. If that doesn't work, send one of the decurions to nicely ask the Flamina Junonis for help. Juno surely has no wish for men being turned into women!

Emily Cascara---I'VE SPENT MY LIFE TRYING TO BE STRONG AND FAST AND POWERFUL AND RESPECTED FOR WHAT I CAN DO!! NOT BE MADE INTO A MAN, YOU $r*@(@!!!

Probably scream herself hoarse. If she has any idea who did this, that poor *$@*( is in for a few days of being tortured to death.

Sue Hetadorr-Enormay---Shoot herself. Better than what the rest of the team would do to her. That's assuming that, as a man, she can manage to figure out which end of a gun is which, and what it does. Cause men are really, really stupid. In the MWWG-iverse, anyhow. ;)

  5. Re: Stone/Bronze Age help

One more reason early cannons were bronze --- people were already casting big ol' things in bronze that were roughly the right size and shape.

Of course, I mean bells. Think not? Look at a pic or an early bombard! Almost as wide as long (or tall from another POV), and about as big as a middle-size church bell.

Just adapt the techniques, and your all set. ;)

  6. Re: WWYCD if their reflection suddenly winked at them?

Me? I'd turn to the player with the "illusion master" character and give her the ol' icy stare' date=' then do ditto to the GM.[/quote']

    Sounds like my reaction. ;)

My character? See if the reflection does anything else. If not (and even if so' date=' prolly), go to HQ and tell folks the "illusion master" was up to something. When asked what, describe in detail what happened.[/quote']

My character would ask around see if anybody knows where the illusioneer is today. Try and have a "talk" with him.

Prolly have to give up, ask for help finding him. Or get the team to deal with the prob.

  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

The team's bard speciallizes in humorous shtuff. The team has an "expert in locks". The bard yells to the locks-man "There must be some way outta here."

GM grabs a handful of dice and says "No Dylan imitations!!"

So a couple of us started imitating Bono. :eg:

She threw the dice anyway!

    I don't think that's fair. :(

  8. Re: Childhood Skill Packages

Thanks' date=' I'll post a bunch later this weekend or Monday. As for Central Casting: Heroes of Legend you can find an overview here: http://index.rpg.net/display-entry?mainid=3061&editionid=3370[/quote']

"This book caused some controversy because of the author's stated beliefs that homosexuality and bisexuality were considered "Sexual Disorders" and automatically gave Darkside personality points."

Controversy?!! It ought to have caused a dent in the head!! :mutter: What an «deleted by mod request».

Other than that, looks like it might be usable, but I've got $0 right now, so I can't get it. I'll keep it in mind.

    Thanks for answering! :D

  9. Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

Displace Hold: This spell teleports the hold of a ship about 30 hexes to starboard. Since the hold is pretty much the stuff from the waterline downwards, this is Not Good™

Hmm... Seem to be on a theme here....

    There does. ;)

A mystic tome: The Book of Ship Jokes. Don't mistake for The Book of Cheap Jokes or The Book of Sheep Jokes!

The Book of Ship Jokes contains all the real bad jokes about (more or less) ships. Reading from this book is likely to destroy the sanity of the reader and (if read aloud) the sanity of the listener. Or the sense of humor of the listener. ;)

  10. Re: Childhood Skill Packages

    Hello all,

I am currently working on modifying The Random Character Creation stuff found in Central Casting: Heroe's of Legend, to better fit my game world and personal sensabilities.

What is this? Never heard of it, but it sounds a bit interesting. Info would be appreciated.

One of the things I am incorporating is a package of familiarity skills that a child would pick up from being raised in a family that had a particular profession (i.e. Farmer, Fisherman, Hunter, Silk Merchant, etc.).

I was thinking of skill packages that contained a set of 1pt. Fam's totalling no more than 5pts.

The problem I'm having is that there are a rather large amount of packages to develop and I know that I will start getting very generic with the skills I put in them over time.

So, I was wondering if I were to post a list of the possible family occupations if anyone would help with filling in the Fam skills for them?

Right now the process is geared towards the main game area of the Igard Confederacy but I fully plan on posting the word doc once I have it finished.

Interesting idea. Yeah, go ahead and post the occupations. Maybe post just some of them?

Create Frock: Out of thin air, you create this just darling little dress, with just the right accesories. It's just perfect for those marvelous little parties, those afternoon soiree's, and all of those wonderful times you and "the girls" get together.

Warning: causes gushing, speaking in simply italics my dear, and other empty-headed actions.

  12. Re: What to do with your stuff...

    *holds up a finger*

Ah, for the sake of discussion, I'd like to point out that I have slept in a couple of different types of armor. Flexible armor really isn't that bad to sleep in... I've slept quite comfortably for 4 hours or so (a not uncommon sleep shift if taking watches)....

So you can sleep in like leather armor?

Ah ha! Gotta point that out to a few folx I know. ;)

Hm... People sleeping in leather. Leather teddies, perhaps? :eg:

  13. Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

What time is it? It's Druid time!!: This spell can only be cast by a druid. It tells him the time, --- by dropping a complete megalithic circle around him! The caster then uses his druidic knowledge to tell the time, and walks away leaving the circle of stone right where they landed.

Of course, this means a lot of very big heavy stones dropped on the area around him (from about ten meters up), and those stones stay when the druid goes.

Lots of Side Effect only affects the environment near the character.

    :sneaky::snicker:

  14. Re: The use of accents/voices in your game

I sometimes use accents, but I'm not that good at it.

What I make effective use of (IMO) is what I call register, which consists of vocabulary, emphasis, and rate of speech.

I've lived all across the USA, so I'm pretty good at USA accents. ;)

I'm with you on "register"; emphasis especially is a good tool.

The best way to learn accents I know is to go to a "college town" and hang out where the Exchange Students do. Listen to how real life people sound. ;) Surprising how much they vary - - - - there's not really a Such-and-such-istan accent. ;)

  15. Re: Arabian Hero

Al-Qadim's magic was for the most part had standard Wizards' date=' but they also had a magic user called the Sha'ir. He summoned a little genie who went out and "found" your spells and brought them back as a little gem that the Sha'ir used to release the spell in the real world. I can't remember all the details (I think they got spells a little faster or more of them than a normal mage, to make them more enticing for someone wanting to play a magic user)[/quote']

Even more interesting was the "Clockwork Mage" who could make clockwork-driven thingies. Could be animal/bird shaped, or more "functional" looking. Cute thing is they could kinda stick spells in 'em and call the spells out later. The fancier machines could call up the spells them selves, according to the orders the CwMage gave 'em.

Unfortunately, I never saw the main Al-Qadim books :(, and only saw a few bits and bobs about CwM's, so I can only give ya a patchy description.

    Too bad; CwM's - - - - Hell, the whole Al-Qadim setting - - - - sounds like a fun idea. Wish I had the whole books. :weep:

  16. Re: Stone/Bronze Age help

A bronze weapon is just about a shaped club after about the seventh or eighth *smack*. Bronze armor is heavy, hot, and expensive; elite troops get breastplate and greaves and that's all.

Stones are cheap, plentiful, and (some kinds) can be made sharp as hell.

Fact is, the fighters are about equally well equipped. Bronze age empires won out by being higher population, because bronze followed agriculture. Also, farmers are used to doing things on schedule, by "the book" and this was reinforced by imperial "bosses". So the bronze-using troops were better organized and better led. That, and that only, is why the Bronze Age empires beat the stuffing out of the Stone Agers.
