  1. I had looked at it only from a figured cha pov, at that rate con and str are the most cost effective stats. On the overall whole, a character with well balanced cha will spend more for them than his/her powers (assuming a moderate point game). The key is that everyone is balanced soemhow. I think changing th epoint cost of the cha, will just add more confusion, unless you are trying to gear the game for some specific type of cha level.

  2. Automan.. heh i liked that show.

Back on Topic, in general some things that are "cool" in champions cost way too uch to be practical for player characters. This is one of them. One way you could make it cheaper, would be to buy Desol, Always On, then make it Cost END to turn off, with an end reserve.

  3. I'm working on a martial artist. He's got a Multipower with various HTH attacks each with different advantages. How would i apply his ability to increase that damage with his str and/or martial arts?

I swear i remember reading once, that if a HTH Attack has advantages but your str, doesn't have those advantages, you can increase the damage from the HTH attack, but only up to double it's base DC (similar to an HKA), but i can't find this rule anywhere.

Did i read that in 4th ed. UMA?

Does it still apply in 5th ed?

  4. My only creation was the Pleadies. Of course they were 7 females. Each named after a gem stone, with her own schtick.

Jade paterned after a cyber punk character i had, she was the team's combat coordinator, master of disguise, and gatherer of high tech gadgets.

    Saphire a physica vampire

Ruby an energy projector, the above were sisters, the only thing that made them interesting was saphire could drain from people and feed into ruby's powers.

Amathyst an faerie mage, with some weird support spells

Diamond a Cyborg and the brick of th egroup.

Emrald The team mentalist... pretty stereotypical

Opal The real team leader.Someone the heroes have yet to meet. She's an Atlantean Sorcerer turned vampire (i took alot from marvel).

Of course unbeknownst to the heroes, the Pleadies are actually trying to prevent an ancient demons from returning to the earth, but the heroes think they are just some merenaries for hire w/ a bad rep.

Heck, don't stop there. Most period costume dramas are as unreal to us in modern times (and presented with many historical inaccuracies) as anything from a comic book. Whenever I hear someone denouncing sci-fi, I always say, "Yeah, it's all worthless, like that crap-novel '1984.'"

    "Oh, well, I don't think of '1984' as a sci-fi novel."

Usually if it has "resonance" or meaning for them, they call it "literature".

Funny thing is i have a friend who accepts, but doesn't find my gamming interesting. As she put it, the other year i "dragged" her to see Lord of the Rings. By the next year, she came home to visit, she has read the whole series (i haven't read book one) and she insisted i take her to the opening night of Two Towers.

  6. Re: BIG QUESTION...

The most contentious is the Stun Multiple for Killing Attacks. Some folks like it, as is... but many of us find it very unbalancing. I'd argue that the single most unbalanced power in Hero is a KA of 4d6 or more, using the Stun Multiple.

The most abusive thing i've seen done is to take a 1d6 rka, AvLD and tack on as many SMs as the DC limit will allow. Add to that a possible autofire too... it is ugly... (and this was 4ed, when SM was a +1/2 Advantage)
