If someone was able to do a more interactive character sheet then Roll20 would be a much more friendly place to run HERO.  There are a few things that would rely on access to the API that I do not have with my current subscription (and if I did would require coding skills that I do not have!)....

Definitealy going to give it  a look. I am no programmer either,  so I won't be able to poke around the API< even if I could afford it.

I think the problem was lucky hits while using hit location rules in a Superhero game. XD.  Were the hit locations called shots? or were they results of "after the hit" location rolls?

I had a problem in that my gaming dried up the first time about 1998, so I have No experience  on the 5th or 6th editions, other than I saw  FRED once at a convention.  So all my experience have been 1st, 2nd, 3rd. and 4th Editions.

My current gaming is Pathfinder, though I do want to run Hero at some point, soon.

Anyway, the topic on this, is a discussion (or request for help) in a colonization effort  mounted towards getting some flavor of hero in Roll20.net.

Roll20.net is an online  tabletop game environment (simulation) that allows for using tabletop rules over a custom built online conference system to facilitate running games. You can browse the capabilities of the system by looking over it at the URL.  Generally it is mostly geared towards D20 based systems (D&D 5thEd., Pathfinder), but has some support for Shadowrun and a few others.  What they do NOT have is currently any support for Hero. Support for those D20 systems, generally comes in the form of  Custom , spreadsheet style, character sheets that calculate for the player stats, bonuses, buffs and penalties on the fly, often by just hitting check boxes on the sheet that define conditions. The worst case scenario, is Pathfinder with a 5-6 tab sheet with each tab covering a topic such as Core, Defenses, offenses, spells, inventory and the like. Having long ago worked on the original Hero Software heromaker, I know the Hero sheet is simpler and smaller, however that was in the 4th edition days. But a lot of the Book  keeping can be done not only on the character sheet, but also on the character counters that have pop ups for HP, AC and such that can be modified on the fly and will reflect on the character sheet, as well. The main screen displays the map, with counters, and the character sheet is on a floater. 

The reason I bring this up is that I have been a 2 year user of Roll20.net, and it has allowed me to participate in the hobby again, though through adequate, but less satisfying game systems like Pathfinder. I would like at some point to run something for my group of players, but run Hero rather than Pathfinder, or 5thEd. D&D.

The Second point is  that I think it would be good for the system itself if we could get other GM's to run Hero on Roll20.net.  The system survives and thrivs with new blood and this seems like a way of introducing the system to other players without having the expense of Hotel Rooms and travel expenses to convention hotels.

I am not in any way shape or form a programmer or scripter.  I can  contribute art, and advice, but coding would have to be someone else, and of course I plan on running something soon-ish. (once my group deciders what sort of game they are in the mood for, but even they seem positive about using Hero as the base system).  Something like the Fantasy Hero Primer would be necessary  as a system introduction reference for players to look up on Roll20.net, though having full PDF's like what are available for pathfinder, on Roll20.net might be a little much (unless an obsolete version of HEro would be acceptable as a look up source?)

As it is, I would like to hear any feedback on this idea, if it could or could not work, or even if it's a worthwhile goal. I would like to be able to run Hero i n Roll20.net, though and see if I could entice other people into what I consider the most flexible and best RPG system.
