I'm the captain in a Serenity game that our group plays intermittently. Last weekend, the GM decides to introduce a new player by having him hijack the ship and send it hurtling toward Reaver space (a very, very Bad Place) with me as his hostage. After the new PC has drugged my character, gagged him, duct-taped him to a chair in the cockpit, and tied a live grenade to him, I told the player (OOC, of course) as he was using the ship's systems to frustrate the rest of the crew, "You've got it wrong. The crew isn't trying to rescue me. They're trying to rescue you FROM me..."
