  1. Re: Millennium Champions Organized Play Campaign Have to throw everything but the kitchen sink at it. So far so good. Later, Will
  2. UPDATE - Millennium Champions Organized Play Campaign Hey, I figured it was time to give a public update to our project: 1) We playtested our first Issue (that's our term for adventure) and it went well with the normal level of bugs found. It is being edited and will go out for playtest at an undisclosed location. 2) We have authors working on the second and third Issues and the plot lines which go with them. 3) We are still on track for an ORIGINS premiere. We will be giving them information by their January deadline. 4) We are working on the sourcebook. The Design Team has been very vigilant about making campaign rules that will make this campaign something that any Hero player will want to play. That is about all for now. Thanks for your support. 3. Re: Millennium Champions Organized Play Campaign My time is short today with meetings so I am going to go for the most bang for the email buck. The Millennium Champions Campaign (MCC) is a series of adventures (which we call Issues) that will be played at conventions (starting with Origins 2008) to start with and then expand to other venues. It will have plot lines connecting Issues together (for example, we might have a Doctor Destroyer plot line over several Issues). It is set in Millennium City as of 2008 (including updates from Champions Universe - News of the World), but may diverge from the official Hero Universe timeline if player actions make it so. Players can create their own characters within campaign limits or can use ready-made characters (called QuickPick characters) when there is not enough time to generate a character fully (like at a convention table). These same characters can play from Issue to Issue. If you are familiar with campaigns like Living City, Living Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and Witch Hunter; it is campaigning in that sort of style. That's the Readers Digest Condensed version of what we are doing. Feel free to email me offlist if you want to know more. Thanks for your question, Will
  4. Re: Millennium Champions Organized Play Campaign Something like that. We will be making a Writers Guidelines document so that will help with the formatting/style issues. We are starting with Millennium City in 2008 and going from there. Hope that helps, Will

  6. Greetings, My name is Will Dover and I am currently the lead designer for a proposed organized play campaign based on 5ER in the Champions genre. Players will be able to create their own characters with some restrictions to make large-scale gaming easier. These characters will then have the opportunity to contribute to one or more long-term story lines. We aim to have the first adventures (which we call Issues) out by Origins 2008. We currently have adventures and a sourcebook containing house rules for managing a large scale Hero System campaign under development. DOJ is aware of our efforts and has given us their blessing to proceed. We are to a point, however, where we need feedback from the Hero Community. We need to know the following from you: 1) Is such a large-scale, continuous, organized play campaign desired by the community (Don't worry about whether or not it is feasible; that's our job )? 2) How many of you would be interested in writing for this campaign (we have an ambitious release schedule planned for 2008-2009)? 3) How many of you would be willing to help the campaign in other ways (GMing at events is probably the top need aside from writers at this point)? Thanks, Will Dover Millennium Champions Lead Designer P.S. NOTE TO FORUM MODERATOR: If I posted this in the wrong forum, please place it in the right one. Thanks. Will
