  1. Re: Help with TK user Well here is my 2 cents on the subject. I like the idea of your character but what tk effects are you trying for. Most of your powers are bought with the advantage (invisible power effect +1/4 to +1) It would be more cost affect if you put your advantage on the whole multipower instead of your indivual slots. I have to ask what is the idea for this power????? 6u 4) Neat freak: What do you want to do with it in combat? Would you use it in non combat???? What is it for??? Your flash attacks, (Plug Ears,Optic Nerve Pinch, Spinal Overload) I like the idea of having flash tk attacks but do you really need to have all of those advantages on them??? In general, are you trying to go for the you can't see me so you can't attack me type of character???? Is this a stealth type of character? The power you have (Pick locks) can be bought with a standard tk with Fine Manipulation. and a skill lockpicking and skill levels with tk... The power (Move and operate things) what is this???? Why do you need to have it be an area affect power?? Are you trying to move several items at once? The power (Be silent) you used the advantages you have the Based On EGO Combat Value advantage why?. You have a dex and ego at 23. If you want to use it as a range attack you must use the advantage ranged. On page 177 in the main book it clearly states this. What is Affects Porous that you have on one of the tk powers?????? The book The Ultimate Mentalist has specific and detailed advantages that can help you out on tk powers. It has skills listed for using tk at range, tricks and combat rules for tk users. The character needs work because more detail on the powers is needed. You need to write a paragraph for each power and why specifically he needs each advantage on them. Also you can have more than one multipower in a character. Drop the elemental control and go with a small multipower. This will save you some points. Also can this character be more affective at a lower total? Try writting it up as a 250 to 325 point character.
  2. Re: Zamjza, Alien Mentalist I like the character concept and the write up. But here is a few problems that I have found on your character write up. The disadvantage OIF (Object of Opportunity; -1/2) where did this come from? Is it another way of saying it is a focus like in the Main Rule book on page 187? Also to save points you might want to put the offinsive powers in the multipowers in fixed slots. From the points saved you can then use then to build a small point Elemental Control frame work. It would be more cost effective in cost if you used the power force wall. Buy the Mental defense and Power defense seperate and in the Elemental Frame or have them cost endurance. Or have two Multipower frame works. One for Offensive Powers one for Defensive Powers. But you have to get a GM's permission. An example of this is as follows Mulipower Offensive powers. 60 Multipower 6 Fixed slot 0) Mental Domination: Mind Control 10d6 (Human, Animal and Additional Class of Minds classes of minds) (60 Active Points) - END=6 6 Fixed slot 1) Mental Scan: Mind Scan 8d6 (Human, Animal and Additional Class Of Minds classes of minds), +5 ECV (60 Active Points) - END=6 6 Fixed slot 2) Mind Reading: Telepathy 10d6 (Human, Animal and Additional Class of Minds classes of minds) (60 Active Points) - END=6 4 Fixed slot 4) Telekinetic Throw: Blunt: Energy Blast 9d6 (45 Active Points); END=4 4 Fixed slot 5) Telekinetic Throw: Sharp: Killing Attack - Ranged 3d6 (45 Active Points); END=4 A savings of 22 points.
  3. Re: Psi Mistress Here is my two cents, It is a hard thing to do but you might be able to pull this off. Try to bring into the game plants, yes psi plants and drugs. It can make an interesting and a good game session or cause the whole game crash and burn. Also I do like the idea behind the character, but there are alot of points in this write up. Can this character be writen up under 300 points in character stats and powers? I have played several years of champions and I have yet to see a game with even a group of characters with this level of point spent on one. It would be nice to see the first low power version posted here to compare. I do like the concept.
  4. Re: Byrne Psionic Super-Person? I like your write up on the background and history. I hate to say this but several of your powers left me asking what is the common thing between each power. I believe a more detailed write up as to what each of the powers do would be helpful. The powers In your multipower is what I am referring to. I hate to ask this but why do you have the power Limitation Restrainable. I have only seen this used on "wings". Are these a real limitation "Only Affects Targets On The Ground" "Only To Stop Moving Objects" , and "Does knockdown"?? Could you post the reference material that you got these from? I do see that there is potential for this character and a lot of work went into this. Please expand on this. If you want powers that are more TK like buy "The Ultimate Mentalist" it has good examples of this types of powers.

  6. Re: Secret Identities and Teammates Here is my two cents, I have seen where a Gm's uses a player to reveal another characters Secret ID. Not giving the choice to the player at all. The game will go into a grind out of players yelling at both the gm and the revealing character. The game will be then divided into mad people about why you did what and why. It is best to tell your player if you want your id revealed to your teammates then ask otherwise don't try to learn the said secret.
  7. Re: Help with a new Character(s) Well here is an idea, Do a dream scape type power. In the 4th Edition Hero the adventure "Mind Games" does go into entering dreams. Buy a detect mental powers or mutants. It is a cheap way to find a type of criminal/person/hero or help with an investigation. The See Aura power listed in both the new 5th and 4th editions of "The Ultimate Mentalists" It allows you to see the color of there feelings, mood and personal position on life. Also another way is to buy an detect power or Clairvoince that allows you see impressions of moods left at a building or on things. Seeing the past but only emotions in the area. It can help in finding clues. Gm must be careful when purchasing this. Also A good use of the invisible power. You can only see me if you have Mental Awareness. The Desolid power. I am travelling by going astral. Depending on how you purchase the power you can leave your body behind. Buy the mind control power limitting it to post suggestion. When said villian or criminal is about to kill/ or do something call this number or something that he would do second natured. That would alert you to him. This makes it difficult to make that break out roll. Or you could do the Emotion probe on people. Basically telepathy with a 1/2 Limitation only emotions. But seeing an Aura already covers this more or less.
  8. Re: Help with a new Character(s) Character 2 Here is a suggestion, There are very few mentalist that use flash attacks. Example in the movie "Fire Starter" the farther blinds a couple of agents that are kidnapping his daughter quote "you hurt her, now your blind." Or in the Movie "Scanners" Series, have a body or con drain that add to your ego. A good use of having different types of tk. Buy strength in a multipower at no end and say it is tk at no range or an HA type of attack. Have a killing tk attack both ranged and hand to hand. Most Mentalists are not willing to cross the "not to hurt line." So try crossing that line. Also a good twist on a mentalist that can actually do some minor shape change to the characters face and or body. An example, The greatest spy in the world. " Martian the man hunter" He can shapeshift and knows what to say to the guard to get inside the complex.
