  1. ok i am running a game on the heros system and the nature of the game involves many killing attacks. However, I want the feel of the killing attack to remain lethal but I want you to be able to abort your next action to a dodge at any time, thus allowing any character to go on the defensive instantly to avoid damage. However, there is a snag. the rule stating you may not abort your next action on a phase you act is an issue since all my bad guys or my good guys have to do is hold till somebody act then pelt them to death with the killing. even worse I have capped everyones speed at 3 so most of my bad and good guys act on the same phase anyways. I really need to just omit that rule, is that possible on this system and do you think I can do that without causing a problem?

  3. Re: How to Build: A very strange power this is kinda off topic but I totally agree, I usually adhere to the rule "if i can do it so can my PCs." Now there might be a power that i forbid due to balance issues in a game but will allow for a villain such as time travel or dimensional shift. But I usually try to allow my PCs to run wild with what they want powers wise. i usually am surprised in hero since most of my PCs can't think of what they want more often that not and usually end up with underpowered characters. At the same time though I cap their stats skills damage basically everything else so as to keep balance.
  4. Re: A completely different question actually no what i am trying to build is Kaiten the rotation from naruto. Basically, I have decided to go with the force wall. i forgot about the rules statement that you can abort with any defensive power. So I can abort with force wall, i would have to give the wall telekenesis strength for the initial push back and an aoe damage shield like i said. I will just have to make it expensive for a very high PD but I think i totally have the power. Expensive yes very but it is for my PCs since one of them has Byakugan.
  5. ok basically, I am thinking I want to build an abortable force wall but I am not sure. basically I want an area affecting power dome style that I can abort to; that will push opponents back out of its area, negate damage to zero, and do damage. The best option i came up with off the top is force wall with a damage shield linked, that is far as I got. there are three issues I have with this one is that I want my NPC to be able to abort to this power, and I would like it to be indestructible as well, I know it is unbalancing and totally crazy but I do need to build it, also the knock back thing. Since Force field is neither indestructible or abortable and has a 0 str so no knockback, I am not sure it is actually what I am looking for. I was thinking of using disolification to represent the indrstrucable part, an aoe attack linked with continuous to represent the knockback and the damage and just having the dome effect be the visual effect of the power. this would work except I don't want attacks to pass through me i want them to bounce off. Any tips or assistance would be greatly appreciated. oh and by the way the balancing part of this power is that I will make it require full concentration and END.

Ok I am trying to make a power that allows my NPC to catch an object and throw it back at any character using reflection, however, I would like it to cost an action and be executable whenever my npc wishes. Basically i want reflection to move from a 0 phase return attack to a 1/2 phase return attack. If that makes sense. Also at the same time, if the character catches multiple items thrown at him from auto fire I still want him to be able to throw them all back at the attacker. I am not sure if i can actually do this already in the power or not. or if I should just discount the reflection adder for the action cost.
  7. Re: New Advangage: Seeking Pardon me, but I was wondering what is SFX? Also, I was wondering if you could make an attack that you have to pay end every turn, make an attack roll every turn, but do not have to make an attack action. The only way without making a new power was to make a summon spell for the Energy Blast, basically, I made the summon spell summon a creature and could attack every round, with the same OCV as my player, and it had a no range energy blast attached to it. So basically my player summoned the Energy attack with no range and it went after the opponant, and when it hit, it de summoned, automatically, I just wish there was a simpler way.

Re: Images question basically, what I see, is that if I make the image with the limitation only makes 3 images, then there will be one perception roll, if they fail, then all 3 images are fake, if they pass, then all 3 images are real. If I bought the power with auto fire, and put the Effect to makes only one image, then the opponant would make one perception roll per image. I guess it is all about what you want. But thanks for the help guys I appreciate the help.
  9. I was wondering how to build a power that creates several images (max of 3 images) of a character. I would like the character to only be able to make images of himself, and only be able to make the images near him. Most of this is not a problem, but the problem I am having is that there is no difference in point cost between making 3 images and making 50 or 1000 so, I need some ideas to restrict the power. I built the power with auto fire, (+1/4) but as I understand that is not necessary. So I was just asking for an idea. I understand that there is a book that made a mirror image power, but I can not get that book, so I was wondering if I could get some ideas from here.
  10. ok basically, me and my friends wanted to play a Street Fighter game on the hero system. Basically, a game that allows us to play Martial Arts heros, and I was having problems creating certain powers, and was wondering if I could get some help. The First porblem I am having is with the Images power. I have a player that wants to create a power that makes several Images of himself, confusing the opponant into attacking a false image. Sightgroup only, maybe 2-3 but I find that the auto fire power can only be placed on attacks. Since images do not have attack rolls, can I not put the advantage on it. I have the revised book, and it states that with an images power, you may create whatever image you want so I gave him the disadvantage of (personal Images only) for a -1. I also want to have this disatvantage restrict him from using the power to create 50 of him, so that is why I wanted to put the autofire advantage on the power. Basically, here is the whole power. Images [sight Group -4 to perception rolls] Autofire (2-3) Images (+1/4), (28 active points); Set effect (May only produce own Image -1), No Range (-1/2); Total 11 pts. Did I build this power correctly?
