  1. If I buy shapeshifting against sight and then add hearing which is not normally targeted so costs less, does that mean someone who buys targeting hearing can "hear through" my shapeshift unless I pay the points for a targeted hearing sense?
  2. I want to build a power that is very limited normally, but then when I do something like put on a super suit it gets much better and loses a lot of the limitations. How do I build a power like this cheapest?
  3. I have a question about the nonpersistent limitation. How does this work if I take for something like Mental Defense? Does this just mean every morning when I wake up I just need to say "I turn it on" and then it stays on no problem until I'm knocked out or asleep? It seems like no real disadvantage for something like this ...
  4. If a character had the shapeshifting "all humanoids" ability, what would be a reasonable value for the limitations: 1. only into people you can currently see 2. only into people you have seen recently (and what would be a reasonable definition of "reasonably"). 3. only into people you've been able to observe for a certain amount of time (and what would be a reasonable value of "certain amount of time") Thanks.
  5. I'm trying to model the "permanent growth" ability by a collection of abilities and, effects, and disadvantages as the book recommends, but I have two questions about that. First, what would the value of a "4m tall" disadvantage be in a normal superhero campaign? And second, do I get the point for selling back my DCV due to size, or is that assumed included in the disadvantage?
  6. How would you model being able to catch a card thrown at a brick? I was going to go with missile deflection, but it says you can't deflect area attacks. So how do you do with big objects like that?
  7. The book says you can't have powers that cost 0 END in an Elemental framework. I was wondering if this only means powers that normally cost 0 END, or if it includes powers that cost 0 END after advantages? For example, could you buy "Costs 0 END" on flying in an elemental power framework?
  8. I noticed under the 3 point combat skills that it an also apply to all the powers in a single power framework. Does this apply to a VPP? So that a 3 point combat skill would apply to any power from your VPP?
  9. Re: Brick skill levels Would punch, grab and throw be reasonable?
  10. What are typical 3 attacks that a Brick would take for a 3 point combat skill level?
  11. Two questions: 1) Can you take a 3 points combat skill level for punch, grab, and throw? If not, what would be the closest "idea" to that and what types of attacks would it cover? 2) If I throw a car at someone, does that count as an area effect attack? (with the area being the size of the car)?
  12. Hi, I was just wondering what GM's allow in general (and what players tend to do) for building bricks. Assuming a a DC 12 and 60 AP limit for any one power, how do people design their bricks to be able to do different things with their strength (and still be strong)? Would you buy up the strength and then in addition to that have a separate pool of points for attacks (seems very expensive)? What about if you wanted the option of using 60 strength at full END cost, but could choose to use 40 at 0 END? Thanks!
  13. Hi, we have just started using Heroes and have a question about naked advantages. We are trying to use the recommended limitations of DC 12 attacks and 60 active point powers (on a 200+150 character) but aren't sure how naked advantages fit into this (the rules seem ambiguous and there are examples in both directions with iconic characters). A character wants to play a brick with 60 strength. He then wants to buy a naked advantage of reduced endurance on the 60 strength. So here are the questions: 1) Is this considered a 30 point extra power? Or is the strength now a 90 point power and so shouldn't be allowed by the limitations? 2) If it should be allowed, is the strength usable in all situations with reduced endurance (the GM reads the rules to say that naked advantages can only be used for one segment at a time, so they can only be used for punching, and not any other use of strength ... I was wondering if this was possibly misreading the rules). 3) I assume even if things like reduced endurance and indirect are allowed to "break the limit" in this manner, armor piercing wouldn't since it would up the attack to more than DC 12? 4) As a last and unrelated question how does AID and ABSORPTION work with the the DC 12 limits ... if you have absorption feeding into strength, then your strength can go over 60? Is the the idea that when you do this the total you can possibly achieve should be the normal limit so that you would have to start out lower? Thanks!
