Re: Classic Comic Book Characters
I have made a few characters, but I am still stumbling through being able to find ways to come up with effects. When most of your RP'in experience has been years of DnD 2e, cyberpunk, and palladium, the Hero System is pretty intimidating at first. Now, however, I have time to devote to it. At the moment, I am creating around 10 or so original supers characters, and trying to come up with a way to convert some of mongoose publishings Conan rpg to Hero....obviously way above my head at present but a good learning experience....mostly working weapon/armor/"racial" conversions right now...slow going. I do appreciate the offer for help, assault, and am really looking forward to learning this system. It's fun, but without a dedicated RP group it's just "me and the books" and is taking a bit of time.
Cassandra, I am pretty much asking you how you would do this...as I'm pretty sure your write up would be quite better and cover more of his abilities, as you seem to have alot of knowledge of this games inner workings.
Assault, you bring a good point though...what I got from it was "you wont learn unless you just do it". I get you bro, for sure there....and I have tried spidey but I'm having a hard time coming up with how to work with power frameworks (webbing based powers), how to use them so they are not exploitive, yet how to get them to actually be cost effective. Maybe I'm trying too hard
Anyways, its allways good to see how experienced players build things to learn from...I'll kill my rant now as this thread should be to showcase cassandra's characters....
After one last point! Assault, maybe you could shoot me some tips you have for character creation on another thread, or a Pm or something? I'm not looking for someone to "do it all" for me, just someone to mentor me as I learn how to do it. Take it easy everyone....sorry for hoggin the thread kinda Cassandra!

Edit: just re-read assaults post, and he did give me tips. Thanks assault! I'll take note of that and work on my conversion skills.
