Damage Shield+Twisting the blade

In both The UMA and FH, there are optional rules for impailing an opponent, then "Twisting the Blade" for additional NNDesque damage.

 

My question is this:

 

What are the effects of a Weapon with a Damage Sheild setting on it (Like a magical Blade of Flame, or some Lightsabre writeups) when used to impail an opponent in that fashion?

 

Does it continue to do its DS damage each phase? Can it also be used in a "Twist the Blade" action for additional damage as well? Or does the DS supercede this?

If the damage from the Damage Shield is a separate thing (bought as a separate Attack Power, etc.), then it applies in addition to Twisting. If it's not -- if it's just an Advantage applied to the KA of the weapon itself -- then only the Twisting applies.
