Therefore, he's free to concentrate on things like finding a place that can be turned into a safe haven for people being preyed upon by marauding gangs or would-be warlords, while also trying to find like- minded people to help protect the safe haven and its inhabitants. Once these two goals were accomplished and the haven was (for the most part) self-supporting, his next step would be to begin the process of rebuild- ing society. If he was fortunate enough to find a techno-genius (or a hidden enclave of scientists who've managed to preserve a sizeable portion of pre- war technology, as well as the means to manufacture it), he'd try to enlist the aid of this person (or persons) to aid in the reconstruction efforts. True...I don't think she'd really fit this setting though; her whole thing is she's a bit of a valley girl, which means that both her personality and origin would have to change so much you might as well just create a new character... For character #2 however, this setting would be perfect: Hippolyte was dropped into the modern world from her own classical origins anyway, so it's just another variation on living in a world she doesn't understand. And she would probably take much more readily to this kind of environment than normal 21st Century Earth anyway because her skills at leading a tribe and helping them thrive would be a lot more useful and highly regarded.
