Automaton Defenses

1) If an automaton is being protected by a non-automaton's defenses, is that defense effectively divided by 3? For example, an automaton that is being run by a computer. The computer can throw up a force field or force wall that protects itself and the automaton.

 

2) If an automaton throws up an entangle as a barrier, as an impromptu defense, is that "defense" divided by 3?

In either case — not if it’s a one-time or infrequent thing. But if this is done as a regular practice, the GM should either (a) forbid it, or ( divide the defense by 3. To do otherwise would be extremely abusive/unbalancing.
