Damage Reduction Compound Power?

I'm just full of question today,aren't I?

 

In most (if not all) the material I have consulted, when Damage reduction is applied to PD and ED, it seems to have one overall AP and RP costs. Yet, Hero Designer insists that the only way i can do this is in a compound power.

 

I am just wondering which it is, because it could influence point costs, like determining the level of Linked that you should use.

 

So which is it?

If the cost is the same either way, it's usually all listed together to minimize clutter on the character sheet and suchlike.

 

If the cost differs because of Power Modifiers, the two parts should be listed separately.
