CrosshairCollie
Since we're asking a lot of questions about the new FH world, I figured I'd chime in since I'm rapidly approaching being this '' close to buying it as soon as financially feasible ... What are the official races of the world? I'm presuming it wouldn't be particularly difficult to homebrew one's own, but what kinds of races officially occupy the various lands? Are there new, unique races, or is it the standard Tolkien-esque stuff? Most importantly, did the 4E Felines survive the transition? *mew*
Steve Long
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Let's see, the races in the Races chapter are: Men (with about a half-dozen distinct cultural variations) Drakine Dwarves Elves (and Half-Elves) Orcs (and Half-Orcs) Erqigdlit Gnomes Goblins Halflings Leomachi (lion-centaurs) Pakasa (cat-folk) Seshurma (lizard-folk) Trolls (and Half-Trolls) But of course, a GM could allow a player to create a character of some other race, if he wanted. Those are just the "standard" ones.
CrosshairCollie
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Cool. Sounds like a nice mix, but ... what the heck is a Erqigdlit? *scoots FH a little further up the 'RPG supplement priority' ladder*
Hierax
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Cool. Sounds like a nice mix' date=' but ... what the heck is a Erqigdlit?[/quote'] An "Erqigdlit" is a dog-like humanoid from Monsters Minions and Maurauders (page 38). http://www.herogames.com/Products/MMM.htm It is quite similar to an xD&D "Gnoll" or "Flind" -- FWIW, I used the Erqigdlit write-up as one of the sources for my own gnoll write-up: http://www.hierax.com/hero/fantasy/grey/monster/gnoll.pdf
CrosshairCollie
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Thank you very much. Next question ... how do you SAY Erqigdlit?
Hierax
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Steve has thought of pretty much everything -- erqigdlit is pronounced "air-KIG-dlit".
Steve Long
Re: Another FH5th Question: Races? Hierax is correct -- and you can find Erqigdlit (originally an Inuit word) and thousands of other Turakian terms' pronunciation in the Encyclopaedia Turakiana, which is available on the Free Stuff page of the website.
