Abort II

Hugh Neilson

Question

Follow Up on the one below.

DefeseMan has a Speed of 6 and a Force Field which costs 3 END per phase. On Phase 2, he switches on his Field, paying 3 END. On Phase 3, he Aborts to block. Does he pay 3 END for his force field:

(a) On Phase 3 - since he took his action (by aborting) he is required to pay all END for contant powers he maintains (or allow them to shut down for lack of END)

OR

(B) On Phase 4 - even though he has no action, he must spend END on each of his regular phases to maintain his constant powers

OR

© Some other option not considered above.

Thanks

Hugh

Re: Abort II

If a Constant Power is already in effect when a character Aborts one of his Phases, he pays the END to maintain the Power in the Segment in which he Aborts (regardless of the type of Power). For bookkeeping purposes, since he’s effectively taking his Phase then, it’s easiest just to have him pay the END then, too. He doesn’t pay any additional END in the Segment in which he’d normally have the Phase he Aborted; thereafter he pays END on his Phases as usual.
