Avld +3/4

This came up in a discusion at the gaming store a couple of days ago:

 

The +3/4 version of AVLD, can it be used for defences of only this F/X (assuming the F/x is relitivly common, such as magic), but any defence of that F/X (so armor, FF, FW, etc...) or is it only for the times when you say it only works vs FF

 

I personaly stated the first (that it could be used, as long as the GM did not think it to abusive)

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're asking. If the question is, "Is the +3/4 version of AVLD limited to defenses of a specific special effect?", then the answer is "No -- any type of the defined defense applies to reduce the AVLD damage, regardless of special effect." For example, Ego Attack AVLD (defense is Power Defense; +3/4) is reduced/stopped by any form of Power Defense, however defined (force field, magic shield, mental strength, whatever).
