Suppression questions

Sean Waters

Question

From the FAQ:

Q: Since Suppress is a Constant Power, and “remains in effect as long as the attacker pays END,†does that mean it keeps Suppressing more points of the target Characteristic or Power on each of the attacker’s Phases?

A: No. It means the Suppressed points don’t return until the attacker stops paying END. It does not mean the victim suffers the effects of the dice of Suppress, again and again. That requires the Continuous Advantage, as noted in the text on 5E 145.

My reading of FRED is that the advantage Continuous makes a power Constant. A constant power is one does allow extra damage each phase after an initial hit, and supress is already constant. It seems that constant comes in two flavours, or levels, a maintenance one and a continuing damage one, possibly each worth +1/2, but you'd have to take the first to get the second.

Is this a valid analysis, or is there a difference between constant and continuous?
