I have a game run on a blog site: http://pbem.nexusseven.com/blog/ and I will have spots available in a while. The trouble is that the party is kind of in the middle of a dungeon crawl, so they won't be meeting anyone new for a bit. If you're interested, we could work out something where you take over an NPC (I've got too many due to players leaving the game) for the rest of this adventure and introduce a new character once they get out. The site won't give you that much background on the world as it's mainly used for the ongoing story, but I can send you more info if you're into it. Starting characters are 50/50 points and I allow almost anything. I like interesting, creative PCs.
