Ego drain and mental powers

OK, this is such an obvious question someone must have asked it, but dredging about on the boards hasn't turned it up....

 

Characteristics can be drained below 0, yes? So if Ego is drained below 0, to -10 say, does that mean you only need to roll 10 on a mental power to get a +20 effect? Or is there a baseline of 0 for the various "+X" effects?

AAMOF, I don't believe anyone's ever asked that. It falls into a category I call, "I wonder why no one's asked this before?"

 

For purposes of being attacked with or affected by Mental Powers, the lowest EGO a character can have is 0. Thus, if a character has -10 EGO, and is hit with a Mind Control with an Effect Roll of 20, the effect is an “EGO +20” effect, not EGO +30.
