Grab and Escape

Foxx!

Question

Steve Long!

Thank you for answering the other questions and this one.

Is this correct?

After Grabbing a target, you don’t need to use an Action or spend END to hold on. It’s the same as holding an object. However, if the target tries to Escape, you need to spend END for STR, but you don’t need to use an Action. Restraining an Escape is a No Time Action.

Cheers!

Re: Grab and Escape

Maintaining a Grab doesn’t require an Action, but it does cost END since it involves an expenditure of STR. If for some reason the target of a Grab is completely non-resistant (for example, if he’s been picked up voluntarily) and isn’t unusually heavy, the GM could certainly waive the END cost. Resisting an attempt to escape a Grab doesn’t require an Action or any extra END expenditure by the Grabber (though if he hasn’t already spent END that Segment to maintain the Grab, he then has to). Re: the time required to escape a Grab, see 5ER 423.
