Re: More Bat-tyness

Back to our story.

Was anything of Mr. Wayne's removed from the manor and brought down here?" an executive asked.

"Per his instructions, I took the stuff from his safes and the devices for tying the mansion computers to the Batcomputer," Maggie replied. "Would you like to see the instructions?"

"Please." Maggie handed him the paper. "Thank you. We need to see the contents."

"Follow me," Maggie said. "They're in my briefcase, along with the computer parts. There are probably documents that need to be filed in there."

The executives followed Maggie to the bedroom she and Harold shared. There, she dumped her briefcase on the bed, removed the computer stuff, and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, help yourself."

"How long have you known?" Lucius asked.

"About a year," Maggie replied. "I began by helping out in the shop and using the gym. It's better than the mansion's. Gradually, Harold and I became lovers. Six months ago, I moved most of my stuff into his quarters."

"I see," he said. One hour later, the executives left, taking what they needed with them. Maggie escorted them out.

"The press are everywhere," Maggie said as she entered the Batcave's computer room.

"It's a big story," Harold said.

"I know," Maggie said. "I just wish they'd just leave us alone."

"Won't happen," Harold said. "In some circles, Bruce was considered a public figure. That's enough to grab headlines, but discovering that he's also Batman is enough to bring everyone in the media here looking for a story."

"You're right," Maggie said. "The funeral will be a madhouse. "Who's making the arrangements?"

"The Wayne Indestries board," Alfred, newspapers in hand, replied as he joined them at the computers. "Oh, Barbara's secret is out in the open."

"Had to happen, Uncle Alfred," Barbara, still in her exersize clothes, said as she joined them. "Anyone interesting coming to the funeral?"

"According to this," Alfred replied, tapping the papers, "Josiah Edward Bartlet will be here."

"The President of the United States?" Harold, Maggie, and Barbara asked together.

"So it would seem," Alfred said.
