buzz
I'm thinking of using Heroic Action Points from Pulp HERO in my upcoming Star HERO game. I'd like to just have a fixed amount of points per session, but the book doesn't really give any guidelines as to how much is a reasonable amount. Any advice? Super Squirrel
Re: How many HAPs? It really depends on how you plan on using them. Are you going with a group pool or individual HAPs? I would start out with 3 HAP for an individual HAP system. If you are going with a group pool, I'd start with 2 HAP per player in the game. I'd adjust it based on your observations of the first couple of games.
buzz
Re: How many HAPs? I was going to go with individual HAPs. Do you ever use HAPs as a reward? E.g., "That was some cool roleplaying! Take an extra HAP for the rest of this session."
Super Squirrel
Re: How many HAPs? Sort of. In my wife's game, she gives us Hero Points. They aren't HAPs but they are earned the same way. It works well. She gives a +1 HP reward for any game session that everyone earns at least a single HP in.
buzz
Re: How many HAPs? Do the points "reset" every session, or do they carry over? As I understand the ones from Pulp HERO, they reset.
Super Squirrel
Re: How many HAPs? You should be reseting them. In the case of Alice's game, Hero Points are "experience points that go towards things we roleplay". She gives them out during the game.
