It's the CU with a few changes. The DOSPA isn't the only agency to send liaisons to superheroes. Fashionwise, it's still the 1960s. While the United States is a religious melting pot, Islam is the major world religion. Oh, yeah. we're also adding in the Buffyverse.

 

It's November of 2004. Jed Bartlet was elected President 2 weeks ago. His MS was revealed to the public during the campaign. His Manchester farm might be the new Western White House.

 

The Secret Service knows that Toby is a Watcher, Bonnie, Carol, Ginger, and Nancy are powerful witches, and that Kathy is a Slayer. When he found out about this, Jed inisisted that at least one of the ladies stay close to him when he's in public.

 

After discussions with her parents and the Secret Service, Zoey left for the Ross Brothers Circus, in a 22 foot Class C motorhome, with special agents Gina Tuscano and Cathy Miller and a female gray tabby kitten the ladies named Muffin. They do have emergency and tool kits in the motorhome and the show employs a physician and a nurse practitioner, who happen to be mother and daughter.

I forgot to add a few things.

 

Abbey is a board-certified trauma surgeon and has agreed to join the staff of the George Washington University Hospital in late January.

 

Jed has occasionally been seen leaning on a cane, but never sitting in a wheelchair.

 

Zoey, Gina, and Cathy are taking turns driving along the interstate from Manchester, New Hampshire to Durant, Oklahoma, where the circus has its winter quarters. Zoey, a skilled gymnast, hopes to be a showgirl, but is willing to work anywhere.

The ladies arrived at the circus the day before Thanksgiving and were guided to a parking place by Mary "Cowgirl" West, an office worker and the show's 24-hour advance agent. Once they were squared away, Mary led them to her younger sister, Becky, the show's head showgirl.

 

Two days later, Paul Lopez, the prop manager and chief rigger, explained to them that each performer was responsible for his or her own rigging, then began to teach the ladies about it. It took a week for Gina and Cathy to get to where he was comfortable letting them help Zoey with her rigging. Another week passed before he was satisfied that Zoey know what she was doing.

 

During the day, when they weren't training with Becky, they spent time with Richard Wildman, who manages the elephants, and his wife, Maria, the horse department head.

All of the private vehicles at the circus have satellite dishes.

 

The show people have at least one cookout a week and birthdays and holidays are celebrated by everyone. The Reese/West clan, who are Jewish, and the Lopez/Campbell/Forester clan, who are Roman Catholic, are the ones in charge of the holiday celebrations.

In the campaign version that has the United States as a constitutional monarchy, Jed Bartlet would be the Prime Minister instead of the President. He and Abbey would live in the Prime Minister's official residence and he'd work in the Capitol.

 

Jed has ordered the press not to talk to his daughters, but they can talk to them when they want to. Since Zoey is a circus performer, everyone that wants to interview her has to be cleared by the circus.
