Split Positive Adjustments

Hi Steve, I couldn't locate an answer to my question in either 5er or the FAQ, so I'm turning to the Horse's Mouth.

 

Statement:

• Absorption can be purchased to feed the absorbed character points into multiple powers/characteristics with a specified ratio (STR gets half, STUN gets half) per 5er p131.

Questions:

1. This doesn't take any application of the Variable Effect Advantage (5er p 111-112)?
   
2. Can other positive Adjustment powers (Healing, Aid/Succor) be purchased this way as well, or would they require the Variable Effect Advantage to affect more than one Characteristic/Power, regardless of a desired splitting of the effect?

It does not require any purchased Advantage or Adder, and other positive Adjustment Powers cannot be purchased that way.
