So, after a long dry spell, I lobbied my way into a FTF Champions game. And, Oh, did it feel good! Here's Gabe Holloway/Linebacker, or LB for short.

Description: Gabriel Holloway is a tall, broad-shouldered black man in his early 20's, with unflinching eyes that you learn are green when he gets close. It would be tough to find fat on his frame and he moves like a well-maintained machine. He dresses for the life he wants, not the life he has, but his tastes are a little behind the times, last year's GQ. He has a few, treasured suits that were his Grandpa's from Back in the Day and he saves those for special occasions.

 

His "costume" is a mid-80's style Bears uniform with the number 00 on the front and back, and no name across the shoulders. He has worn others' names across his shoulders for Make-a-Wish or charity.

 

Background: Gabriel Holloway was born and raised in Chicago, and turned out all right. If the city can produce a man like him, they must be doing something right. All-American and Honor Roll, Dean's List and Bednarik award winner while at Northwestern, Gabe was looking at a profitable, promising future with the NFL and eventually putting his Communications degree to work in the booth. That came to an abrupt halt with a sprint, when his powers kicked in at the NFL Combine. Finishing the 40m Dash in 2.1 seconds and benching every weight in the room made for headlines but it ended the story of his football career. Gabe and Chicago don't give up that easily though. Gifted with a special old-school Bears uniform made just for him, Gabriel still plays for the Windy City. Strong side defense in the City of Big Shoulders.

 

Powers/Tactics: Linebacker is a freight train with Stick-Em. He moves around a lot because he has too much energy not to. When he hits someone they stay hit and if he has any flaw it's that he might someday put a shoulder to someone out of his league. So far, he hasn't met anyone who qualifies.

 

Personality/Motivation: Gabriel has been the focus of attention for quite some time and he works hard to justify it. However he also likes it more than he's willing to admit. He will play to an audience or, even better, a camera if the chance is there.

 

His family has a lot invested in him over the years, helping him reach the heights that he has. He is a little disappointed that he isn't going to be able to pay back the investment with interest, but his kin just smile and break out the scrapbook showing all the people Gabe has saved since he put the uniform on.

 

He literally tackles problems, but he's very good at tackling. He can be easily outmanuevered by someone he trusts, as has happened before, and that's the closest he comes to losing his temper when that happens
