Martial Arts plus Advantaged HA

James Gillen

Question

Hi Steve,

Sorry, I'm pretty sure this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find the specific answer in the 5ER or the FAQs.

Let's say my martial artist has 20 STR, a Martial Arts package with Offensive Strike (+4 DCs) +4 DCs in Martial Arts on top of that, *and* a special technique bought as a Hand To Hand Attack, +4d6 with Armor Piercing Advantage.

So the normal attack allows a total of 12d6 with an Offensive Strike. Page 408 confirms that you can use your full STR on an Advantaged HA as long as the unmodified points at least equal STR, which they do, so I can get 8d6 AP with STR and the Advantaged HA. So far so good.

In 5ER, p. 405 confirms that you can combine HA with damage from Martial Maneuvers. SO- does that mean the 12d6 Offensive Strike can combine with the 4d6 AP Hand Attack to make a 16d6 AP total attack- or how does this work?

Again, if this has been answered before, please point me to it. Thanks.

JG
