Body Sympathy/Death Link

Dr Archeville

Recommended Posts

(Based on an AD&D 2nd Ed. spell)

Fluff Text: "This ability/power/spell puts the user and target in a two-way sympathetic link. Any damage inflicted on the user is automatically inflicted on the linked creature as well; should the user die, so too will the linked creature. Conversely, if the linked creature is damaged or hurt, the user will be hurt as well. Armor, Damage Reduction, Damage Resistance, Power Resistance and so on are considered those of the individual attacked -- only the effect is carried over to the partner in the link. The only exception is that if the linked creature dies, the user survives unless enough BODY damage has been received through the ability/power/spell to prove fatal. Both curative and destructive abilities/powers/spells cross the link -- healing one party heals the other."

Crunchy Bits: I have no clue how to do this one, other than that it probably involves some form of Transform.

Re: Body Sympathy/Death Link

This ability requires an OBSCENE number of points to model, especially if you can freely cast it on anyone.

If you just wanted to share damage, you could possibly get away with UAA Mindlink with full Feedback and some limitations. This is a pretty broken build though...

Transform is definitely an option, but even that is going to venture into the realm of handwavium.

The trouble is, since this can do both beneficial and harmful side effects, you would basically need a No Conscious Control, Triggered Cosmic VPP just to cover everything that could possibly happen to each recipient. And it would have to be a fairly large VPP too...

Re: Body Sympathy/Death Link

Major Transform a person into a person with the Physical Limitation: Takes all damage inflicted upon X (All the Time, Very Inconvenient)

Alternately, 10d6K NND Does Body Continuous Uncontrolled Trigger, Only to duplicate damage done to X

Uh, it does healing, too? That's a pain to model, yes.
