The Bridge doors in Episode 1 were over a meter thick - based on the fact that Qui-Gon was unable to cut all the way through it in a single cut (the lightsabers average around 1 m in blade length). The blast doors were likely over a meter in thickness as well.

 

The solid part of vault doors are usually 6-12". So 6 to 12 times that? And a 'futuristic' alloy to boot...

There are also other ways of using hardened. A character might be really skilled at turning their body or rolling with a blow and negating the effects of a strike. This type of hardened would work against a lightsaber.

That's called Combat Luck. The defenses provided by Combat Luck are both Resistant and Hardened.

I don't think I've built a character without Combat Luck since I discovered it. I named it "The Spiderman Effect", but that was copywritten or something.
