Basil
On Mars, while Phoenix was fading out, another probe was going through troubles. The Rover, Spirit (twin to Opportunity) got caught in a dust storm. NASA gave it instructions to shut down much of it's instruments, to keep it from entering a "fault protection mode". They weren't sure if it had done so, and in this case silence was (kind of) encouraging. After worrying, folks at NASA were overjoyed when Spirit started talking again. But they're still worried, so they've put Spirit on a low-activity schedule. Oh, and a funny comment about this can be found here.
Lord Liaden
Re: Solar HERO: The Spirit lives on! That little robot has performed beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and should be given a medal for service above and beyond (figuratively and literally).
