Naked advantage

JmOz

Question

A) Do all advantages on characteristics have to be naked advantages? (Specificaly if it is intended to be used everytime the characteristic is used, looking at advantages on defences)

B) Does an advantage that is limited (just the advantage), have to be a anked advantage

What I am doing is recreating the following power from 5th

5/5 Damage resistance, OIF

so It would be

5/5 (resistant +1/2), OIF (-1/2), 5 AP, 3 RP...but trying to figure out if it would have an END cost

Re: Naked advantage

1. This is a situation where I think it’s safe to rely on gamers’ general common sense. (Famous last words. ;) ) Nearly all Advantages on Characteristics are naked Advantages, but the GM can make exceptions if desired (though in most cases it’s a meaningless distinction). Obviously the Resistant Advantage is always in effect in nearly all cases, so thinking of it as a naked Advantage in the usual way doesn’t really make much sense.

2. Yes — an Advantage that has a Limitation that doesn’t apply to the power the Advantage affects is pretty much a textbook example of a naked Advantage.
