Boll Weevil
I am a big fan of the Marvel arc Age of Apocalypse and would love to know how it would play out in the CU. Has anyone run (or played in) such a campaign? If you were to run such a game, how would you set the stage, involve the heroes and who are the big bads? Sketchpad
Re: Age of Apocalypse: Champions Universe style I used Dr. Destroyer in a 4th ed string of adventures that was like AoA and Days of Future Pasts combined To set up, one of the players made a new hero to join the team, only he was from the alternate timeline with one specific mission: Stop the events that started the timeline from happening. So, as they work together, the other heroes notice something odd and discover he's actually one of their children from this horrible future. Needing to know more, they do a group mindscan, setting up a micro-adventure within the adventure where the players took on new heroes for two sessions as they played within a world where Doc D took over. Towards the end, they played out sending the new hero back in time and return to their regularly played heroes, who in turn fight to stop the events that happened (which was a battle where Doc D took out a Superman-like character, starting a chain reaction that put him on the top of the world). One of the dangling plot threads that I was never able to use, however, was that the hero that came back had an enemy from his time. And though they thwarted Doc D from taking over, this villain was eventually going to rise and attempt to make things right ...
