Background/History:

Ward Collins was born November, 1, 1985 in Bay City, California. The illegitimate son of Orum Carstairs, the actor best known as the superhero Sabre and Rhiannon Collins a member of the Garda.

 

Rhiannon's best friend is Maeve Reid. They met in primary school and surprised both their families when they both joined the Garda Siochana (Irish Police) together. While their careers took them in different directions they stayed close. Rhian joined the Special Detectives Unit, while May joined the Emergency Response and Public Order Units.

 

They took vactions together went man hunting together. In Barcelona, Spain they were attending a Comic Con where they met one of the special guest Orum Carstaires. A case of mutual attraction and opportunity ended in a threesome one night stand.

 

Three months later they both discovered they were pregnant. Coming from a strong roman catholic family and as police women. They decided to move to the United States and raise their children in relative peace and away from the guilt and shame of being single mothers in Dublin, Ireland.

 

They settled in Bay City, California and six months later and only days apart Rhiannon gave birth to Ward and Meave gave birth to Bobby. Rhiannon wanted to stay home and raise the kids. While Maeve joined the Bay City Police Department. By the time the children were six years old Rhiannon had returned to the work force as a Private Investigator.

 

Ward and Bobby attended the Roman Catholic schools of Sacred Heart Convent and Stuart Hall, in the Archdiocise of California. Their Blood heritage made them athletic and academic stars. They were brothers in body, mind, and spirit. When the boys turned twelve years old their Blood Uncle, the Affrighter found them. Unable to have to have children of his own he kidnapped his families children and turning them into his own Elite Guard.

 

In the Affrighter's sanctum Ward and Bobby met three more children. All descendants of the Blood. They learned of their true heritage, trained how to use their powers, and indoctinated to become an Elite Guard. They were given new names, new blood names, and Ward became Spatha and Bobby became Knightstick.

 

One of the Affrighter's disciples was immune to his powers, conditioning, and could restore others. Her name was Emiko Gozen, her blood name was Bugiesha. The boys almost twins now became a triune. Togther they were unstopable.

 

In their eighteenth year a group of Blackguards (Bloodletters) from Ean found the Affrighter's sanctum, breached it's defenses, and attacked. The Affrighter ordered his disciples to guard his escape and abandoned them. Only the triune survived. The boys returned home with Naginata. Her family had been murdered by Affrighter and his minions.

 

Their homecoming was everything they dreamed of and after hearing Emiko's story the mother's adopted her into their small family. Emiko's power to heal the mind and spirit allowed them all to recover.

 

Returning to their lives was difficult. Ward and Emiko's love became romantic love. Bobby still loved his adopted brother and sister. They all completed their schooling and graduated with honors. Keeping their Blood Names they became local superheroes. Guided by Bobby's mother the former Irish superheroine, Shillelagh they became a loose super team.

 

 

Personality/Motivation:

Ward's roman catholic upbringing combined with growing up in Bay City and abducted by the Affrighter's cult would make most people crazy, but love of family, duty, and honor have kept him sane. Not to mention his girlfriend Bugiesha.

 

He became a superhero because it was the right thing to do and because it was his obligation as a member of the Blood.

Powers/Tactics:

The Blood Talisman augments his psychokinetic defenses and strength. His unaumented Blood Powers inclued the ability to manifest a PSI Blade, to transform into pure psionic energy, to a limited form of flight, to Heal and even regrow limbs, he can create a psychic bond with others allowing instant communication. A psionic illusion allowing him to disguise himself, and to Teleport in Combat or Transport with others.
