Background/History: Terrax began his life as Tyros the Terrible. He was the absolute dictator of a far off world known as Terran. He longed for nothing more than what he had and was content. Then Galactus found him. In need of a new Herald, Galactus sent the Fantastic Four to Terran to subdue the monarch. Then he gave Tyros the power cosmic. Tyros' area of control was the earth and stone. Dubbed Terrax the Tamer by his new lord and master, Tyros began his rocky and short career as a Herald.

 

Willful from the beginning, Terrax eventually made such as nusiance of himself that Galactus terminated his service (the hard way). Terrax's body was found by Dr. Doom who used him in his own diabolical way. This resulted in his apparent death. Terrax was reformed and by Genetech on at least two occasions and then left to the stars. He joined the Silver Surfer and other former Heralds of Galactus against Morg, the current holder of the title. Morg's use of a cosmic axe upset Terrax as he felt that the new Herald was stealing his schtick. In the end Galactus removed some of Morg's power and then Terrax defeated him in combat and slew him. He took Morg's Axe to replace his own.

 

Even more recently, Terrax found a planet where a statue of a being that bore a striking resemblance to himself marked the grave of the "Stone God" Malkeoth. Entering the tomb, Terrax battled a ghostly shade of the dead God and absorbed his power. Primmed and easily a match for his rival Norin Radd, the Silver Surfer, Terrax is now flying about the universe, picking fights and taking anything that strikes his fancy.

 

Personality/Motivation: I want it all and I want it now. Oh and I'm gonna kick your tuckus.

 

Powers/Tactics: Terrax possessed vast cosmic power granted him by Galactus. Terrax's body was coated with a flexible rock-like shell that was impervious to extremes of heat and cold, from 50 degrees above absolute zero to the interior of a small sun, pressure up to 100 Earth atmospheres, and concussive force up to a fall at terminal velocity from the limit of Earth's exosphere. His body had been sustained by cosmic energy, making it unnecessary for him to eat or breathe.

 

Terrax wielded a cosmic axe which had several powers of its own. It was capable of emanating waves of destructive force sufficiently powerful to rent a tear in Galactus's own ship. It could also project highly impervious force shields. Since it operated independently of rock and earth, the axe augmented the scope of Terrax's power.

 

Appearance: Hair: Stone Gray, Eyes: White (No Pupils)

Terrax looks like an oversized dwarf. He is thick limbed, strong, has a beard but no hair, and his skin has a stone like quality in look and feel. He wears a blue tabbard with metallic red trim, including shoulder armor, and guantlets. His boots are red with yellow braces at the top and he wears a yellow belt.
