Else Earth: The Divine Right

The Divine Right is a shadowy cabal of master criminals (And one dimensionally mobile halfwit) who share two things in common: the desire for conquest and an inability to play well with others.

Each member is a Master Criminal with eyes on world domination - or at least a part of the world.

New members are vetted and invited to join by the council and once the offer has been accepted they are given access to the Divine Right's resources - rivaling the ARMORY and the Black Market in scope and technology.

The main edict for the Divine Right is that they keep it secret. Their agents, super lieutenants, and resources are all themed to each "King's" tastes. To the world outside they are just your "average" mid-card world conquerors.

The current "Council of Kings" (And their territories) are:

  • Baron Shreck (Germany): A master of fear magic who sold his soul for power and despite impressive victories and a list of achievements, is still known mostly for almost taking control of Berlin only to be defeated by a waitress with a frying pan. His followers are called the Shreckensherrschaft.
  • Hyperion and Sun Queen (the UK): Twin siblings gifted with the power to control flames as well as demigod level physical attributes. Hyperion is the ringleader and Sun Queen is insane. Their troops are the Golden Legion.
  • Imperador Dourado (South America): Master telekinetic trying to take over South America and bring it to the forefront of international politics. He fights a three way battle against the forces of Law and Order and the Exceptionally powerful Drug and Criminal Cartels. Based in Brazil, he refers to his agents as the Liberation Army
  • General Mayhem (United States): A wanna be Patton who was drubbed out of the army, he gained superhuman powers via a bargain with an unidentified source. Sympathetic to the Iron Crusade but feels he needs to be in charge. Dresses like a mythical general and calls his groups the Revolutionary Army (he and Imperador Dourado do not get along)
  • Lady Avarice (Italy and surrounding area): Rumored to be an original member of the 1920's pulp era criminals the Deadly Sins, Avarice is very much out of the public eye. Her Agents are known as the (Italian) Acquisition. The Parenthesis word is added derisively by her fellow Kings.
  • Pêşmerge (Traditional Kurd territories and other spots in the middle East): Rumored to be a powerful vampire, this warrior-king is the preeminent member of the Divine right and it's originator (along with Lady Avarice) he calls his agency the Hand of Death.
  • Emperor Hawkins (Gangazon Dimension): the only member of the Divine Right who actually rules anything. Emperor Hawkins is an American who found himself in another dimension during a military test. He conquered it and came back to conquer his home world. While that hasn't worked out he has been made a member (more of a pawn) of the Divine Right. His agents are the Gangazoids.

Campaign Use

The Divine Right is a curiously subtle group of megalomaniacs who feel if any one of them actually manages to conquer the world the whole of them will benefit. Each member is long-lived, patient, and a tad off their rocker. They almost all have messiah complexes and treat their organization more like a pantheon of new gods to ascend from Earth. They have their fingers dipped in Super Science, Magic, and Manpower. Each of the Council of Kings has super powered lieutenants, one or more of whom are essentially spying for one or another of their fellows or the organization as a whole. Most dream of eliminating their partners when they no longer are useful.

At the moment, they are very Euro-Centric but hope to expand into Asia and Africa, making very certain not to step on the toes of established Kings. Communication between the members is handled via sophisticated technological networks supplemented by arcane counter measures. They meet annually in a super secret location that is accessed via portals from Emperor Hawkins.

For the most part, they are a world building device but players could come across the conspiracy and attempt to disrupt it.
