Background/History:  Armando Cardozo as always one of the best and brightest. A child prodigy in athletics and academics; he dreamed not of futbol fame but of pulling his nation out of the grip of criminals. Inspired by Esteban Cortez, he wanted to join the police. He joined the Federal Police Department out of college and proved an exemplary officer. Not just brave and heroic, but a master of communication and a connection to the communities he was assigned to. He was used in publicity and recruiting campaigns, public service announcements and pulled for prestigious duties nigh constantly.

 

When the nations of South America decided to form a hero team, Armando was chosen to reciecve augmentation and represent Brazil. He was modled after an United States comic icon, but to keep his national image, was trained in well known brazilian martial arts and athletics. Amando had done a little martial arts training as a police officer, but nothing like this. After a year of treatments and training, he was presented his uniform and shield and introduced to the world as Capitão Brasil.

 

In the three years he's been operating as Capitão Brasil, Amando has become quite respected in the hero community. He does have concerns as to the source of his powers. He hasn't seen his country capable of producing metahumans on command like that before or since and wonders if he was the subject of illegal experminentation. Not so much from a moral stand point but the posibility out there of one of the major gentetics villains having some sort of control over him.

 

 

Personality/Motivation:  Capitão Brasil is about as close to his origin as you can get and not be American, but there's a few differences.

 

For one he's a lapsed Catholic but still feels the tug, he's a tad sexist and doesn't see "celibate" on the job description so he's not above flirting when he feels it's appropriate. That said, he doesn't treat female heroes as inferiors, just tends to behave less professional more "guy you met at a bar."

 

He's respectful to his elders, a good role-model for children, and prefers redemption and reformation to extermination. He knows that his identity is one of the least creative but he wears it with pride and represents his people to the best of his ability

Campaign Use:

 

Appearance:  Armando is tall and muscular, with tan skin, and cropped black hair and playful brown eyes. He stands 6'1'' and weighs a lean 220lbs. His features are very symetrical and he has perfect teeth.

 

The uniform is green and gold with white gloves, boots, and belt. Brazil's flag figures prominently on his chest. The Shield is gold and has a relief of the national flag.
