Relative combatants' size

jdounis

Question

Hello,

How is combat  between combatants of size different than a normal human(2m) handled?, for example if two Pixies of tiny size fight each other should the GM remove the template's DCV bonus due to size, or better adjust it based on the relative size of the combatants?

Thank you for your time!

Per 6E1 161:

Size also affects the ability of other characters to hit the character:  Grown characters are easier to hit (the attacker receives a +2 OCV bonus to hit them for every x2 height); Shrunken characters are harder to hit (+2 DCV for every x1/2 height). For ease of game play, these modifiers apply regardless of relative size; for example, the DCV bonus for a character one foot tall is the same regardless of whether he’s being attacked by someone who’s human sized, an inch tall, or any other size.

In short, the old rules about adjusting for relative size were removed for simplicity -- but you could easily re-introduce them if your gaming group likes them. Thus, if someone two levels of Growth tall attacks someone two levels of Shrinking small, he'd suffer a -8 OCV penalty.
