Fought in the Great war and saw the horrors of true conflict first hand, and the gross mistakes made by those on command who had no respect for the troops sent to die. When he returned to America he resumed his job as a cop, one year later he was cut down by mobsters, lying dying on the streets a man appeared, Knealt down and said, " You have much to do my servant" and left, two days later twin guns were delivered to his hospital bed, along with some rather drab grey clothes. He became the pulp hero Greycloak, who fought til the late 50s behind the scenes, the master of combat and stealth. He retired in 1959 after being badly beaten by one of the newly emerging supers, figuring that 60 was a good age to retire he did. time passed he bought a bar in 1980 / for Jazz music, he was just passing the time waiting to die. He didnt. 2000 100th birthday, went for a walk in central park at 2pm, wanted to die, a young girl was being attacked by several gang members, feeling a urge he hadent felt for years he intervened. As a gun was thrust in his face he felt both joy about the end of his life, and shame that the was going to allow this girl to be abused. With old remembered skills he flicked the gun round and pushed it forward on the gangers own hand, the gang members face exploded in gore, the others ran. his only thoughts " why am i so slow" He knew now that he had been hiding from life for half a century, ok hes old slow and unskilled ( by his own oppinon ) bring it on, Greycloak is back. He follows in the footsteps of the Shadow,Batman Quote " Son i woulnt do that if i were you, think it through. Lifes got lots of potential, hurt them and ill kill you." Solomon
One of my characters, Ombra, is a pulp era PI. Sadly I lost his charsheet in my last computer crash and all I have now is his background (in Italian). Hmm... might as well rewrite him.
