  6. Re: Champs-What if you had to draft a superpower registration act? To enforce this law you would have to have squads of dedicated units tracking there particular target. Like the hulkbusters or if goverment has acces to sentinel level technolgy promote them as law enforcers. So alot depends if the gov could enforce the law and if they have acess to that kind of power there wouldnt be heroes or villains any way just alot of supergolden avengers. And there is realy truly nothing a realworld gov can do to the likes of superman level characters. Plus upon hearing about this law all the countries powerful industrialists and political types who are telpaths mindcontrollers would make sure it went away, no one is going to test them for powers or there children. Heroes are secretive by nature commit illegality on a nightly basis, they arnt cops after all. but when the choice is phone batman or have the city blow up it aint much of a discision. More likely would be secret blackopp opperations to coerce heroes. Or realy funny would be to start hiring the vilains to stop the law breaking heroes. i like that idea now i come to think of it. And why go after heroes at all when theres all those rapaging vilains that police havent a hope of stopping. Just as the campaign accepts supers exist the goverments should as well. Any registration act would eneviatable lead to conflict, and all heroes would be of the batman superman types who swoop in save the day and leave and no there not ansering any questions. so no FF or public supers. So no real change, except every super out there will be bullitproof and have decent movement evasion powers the rest stay at home.

  8. Re: Is Flight Slow? All movement is slow so characters fit on a 1"=2m hex map, fine for people with no movement powers, but hardly like most film or comic fights. Thats also why throwing distance and knockback are quite weak

  11. Re: Realism vs cynicism The world's reactions to superhumans Champions level supers just dont fit the mould of unstoppable, partly due to the inconsistant way damage and defence is described. Standard super is 12d6 damage about 25def 15 res, fair. some movement usually enough to escape conventianal forces. alot less than the military has access to even for handheld weapons. Point being in the CU supers are not at the superman justice leage level of gods, more like marvel characters hell even Thor can be killed by hand held weaponry, hes just not ever actually hit with it. My view of govs reaction to supers would agree with the poster that said what the first supers were like. Also regarding Iron age, how wrong does your country gov need to be before you fight against it. Bare in mind America is a rebel country ( from england ) And almost all european countrys have been overthrown a dozen times in there history. I also agree that some powers would justify total paranoia on the goverments part. example people like prof x, hmm i think the president should kill himself (and then does) or even possibly worse cyberkinetics, crash all computers in the world because you can. thats a real weapon of mass destruction, no money no history no job, 3days to wordwide barbarism.

(try getting rid of a Worf with combat precognition and 2 really powerful guns) When none of your PHd players can find/understand your simple "clues". cos there stupid
  13. Re: Variable power pool? Questions... Having myself once allowed a character with a "copy" powers vpp, id strongly advices not allowing it. He can also copy your non pc allowed powers given to villains. also other pcs will hate him with a passion.

    Super games

    just a quick question are there any supers games that arnt d20 or tri stat? looking to expand my horizons still a herophile cheers

Guess i just object to bricks and martial artist doing the same damage, especially as i like characters to be able to fight copies of themselves without it being one hit and you out. Most MAs damage are similar to bricks damage, but there defences are lower as well as con and stun. I cant think of many fight where thor or the hulk or superman actually lost in a standup fight with a nominally human martial artist.
  19. Re: Favorite Anti-Brick tricks? All character builds that arnt mentalist should be vunerable to mental paralasis. Bricks are meant to be the toughest and longest lasting opponent you could have. In comics its usually other bricks that take him out not some gimp of a Martial artist.

Re: Logic v Balance Picky picky i think the RULES would say you come to a dead halt( actaully advantage as you dont have to decelerate ) as to monstergirl, i t would be better described by flight to NCM levels direct at atarget, after getting up a whooping 300" turn your growth on, or Density increase for that matter. I would rule you keep your velocity and hit with appropriate increased force +1d6 for either. 100d6 +6 for str+6for growth orwhat ever pretty imaterial, hero rules would suggest you hit a hex and cause no damage whatso ever to ajoining hexs. ( balance you didnt buy Area of affect ) also complete crap by logic. My rule against this kind of abuse is that VELOCITY is the defining stat of Move thrus or falling. thus falling from a plane and hitting the ground at 200mph is not the same as being hit buy Dr Ds main weapons array(30d6) Hero falling rules and Kb rules are the worst ive ever seen, tripe of the highest order. but so entrenched that to argue against them is almost heresy not helped buy the fact two characters travelling at the same VELOCITY can hit something with different damage levels, thanks to the speed chart

I have to admit i have never liked the idea that a 10 body normal can take 9 body and still be 100% combat effective (apart from nearly dying part) Think id go with a shadowrun styly divide body by 4 and each time you pass that mark take a -1 to all actions. gives agood reason to buy body. though as a aside hero is the most non-lethal game ive ever played. pd 12 allows a tank to roll over your head and yo still wont take any body, hmm realistic i think not.

Logic allows for alot of things to be accomplished with most powers, which is done as one off uses of powers in comics, refelcted in hero by the power skill. Overdone in can make a power like transform godlike. Game balance is good for allowing all characters to keep there areas of expertese, pushed to far no one can do anything interesting with there powers ever. " No you cant keep people warm in this freezer room with your flame aura, no change enviroment" Both style would set my teath on edge in a game.

Just noting that your NNd should be the other way around, nice character. As for the FF and absorbtion having different valuse for sfx Electrical, -1/ -1/2 respectively id say they should be worth the same and would give -2 for Sfx ( everthing but fire and ice would get -2, they just dont appear often enoght to warrent only -1. personal oppinion of course) While no range is legit and backed up by precedent many times i have a problem with no-range attacks that can strike 14 inches away ( a lim thats not a lim is worth no points ).
