  1. Re: How do you Build this? thanks for your replies .. as well as the word of warning ... we did have a brief discussion on being the most powerful knocked out guy in the game as well so thanks for keeping the weakness of the idea as well. Deathwatch
  2. How do you build this power. player absorbs both PD and ED 1/2 of this goes to various stats. the other half goes to a VPP that can mimic the effects he has been hit with. the trick here is the VPP has no active PTS. in it except the ones it gains through the absorb .. so i ask you within the rules how is this built.. im having issues on the vpp. thanks Deathwatch
  3. I once found a link here in one of the zillions of posts to a site of fan fiction that had a story of batman and wonderwoman.. i thought the story somewhat interesting and now have lost it in the hordes of posts. does anyone know what im talking about? and or know the site or link to it? Deathwatch
  4. Hmm.. so far my game sounds more like blue's style... partly because almost all events lead down a common path and because the players are paranoid enough to beleive that its all a plot against them.. Deathwatch
  5. How often in the course of your campaign do you have a day where the adventure is not saving the world .. but saving the city block from a gang or stopping a mugging/robbery. My current campaign is still in the opening moves and im just curious how often the heroes in your games just stop the bank robbery? Deathwatch
  6. Quickly take her to the Seduction lab... that will break her spirit!! - Dauntless A recent comment by my local hero team when deciding what labs/facilities to put in the new base they are constructing. Deathwatch
  7. where is Divas Mal ? Divas Mal?
  8. In general i Prefer groups of 4-5 it allows a good deal of interaction and role-play for each of the players though i have had teams of up to 14 with 6-7 regulars each week, when you get to this size the threats also need to be bigger. my newest game has just hit 3 players and now the word has gotten out so i expect to see no less that 6 by the end of next month. Keep in mind the group .. its dynamic and the level of threat you want to maintain for the game and you should be fine, but when you get to larger groups much of it is tied into long melee which can bore many a player and judge. 9. He intends to brainwash them/ Mind Control them into acting as spies or troops for him! this one can be the best of all if you can get one or two of the players to play the role. i have done it in the past.. let the captured go and 3-4 adventures later have them bushwack their own team. it can also spread a good deal of distrust into the ranks of heroes. this really works well when you have more than 4 players so you may wish to save such a evil trick till a much later date. in my case the heroes were actually replaced by androids that could mimic MOST of the replaced powers and both the players that had been replaced played the androids for weeks before the trap was sprung. clues were left but heroes tend to be dumb about everyday things... gee joe cut his arm .. but i dont recall him bleeding? hmm he is a mutant though ...LOLOLOL Nomadprime
  10. the story continues .. the police have pinned the murder of the thug to someone other than the hero. placing the blame on one of the other heroes has called his personal honor into question. he has confessed to the crime but then fled from the authorities fearing what his fate would be.. he has fled so he thinks that the he will make a new character and the old one will be retired to the judge.
  11. at this point i plan for the story to go something like this: Local News reporter finds notes in an ongoing investigation into corruption that lead to the idea that the police are covering up the "excessive force" complaints of villans thus violating rights Etc.. another death or 3 will happen where the body will be found in similar condition to the one he killed. this will then make the police look at it as a problem ( he will not be the killer). he and I have a one-on-one game this weekend. the others know of the game but are not going to be there. then i will let the others know another body was found.. pulped in a similar manner.. I know this will drive one of them to start questioning the "hero-ness" of the other teamate. the hero will deny he did it .. the others will not belive him and turn him in to the authorities for the deaths. then while their friend is in jail they will find the real killer .. but by then the Hero should confess thus taking him out of the picture.. its a cruel world but then not all heroes have happy endings. I have many who are wanting spots in the game so he will be given a chance to recreate a better character before he is dropped for a while.
  12. unfortunatly this player does NOT have any skill as a player and falls much more into the Power-gamer range of point use. he had to make 3 characters before I passed this one. at this point i fear the character will end up being hunted or outcast in some way and the PLAYER will try to blame me as targeting him to be removed from the team. He was warned the tone of the game was less supervillian and more villain oriented but only time will tell. thanks for your suggestions.. ill let you know what happens.
  13. An interesting issue arose this week in our fine game of champions. a hero killed a normal .. and he has a code vs. killing. what would you do to this poor fellow? The events were basicly they had been fighting several low power type villans that night and he did not see a reason to scale it down.. even after a judge warning that "they dont look uber" thus opened up and well ... ooops thug paste all over the floor.. for now i have made him take a 8- ativation roll on the power that inflicted the death saying you are afraid to use it. In addition he left the scene quickly so that he would not be connected to the death, so the only ones who know of this crime is the other hero's who are of a more loose moral fiber than him so will do little more than taunt him for his lack of honor. the police will discover the sight and investigate .. i have no clue where i want that to go .. the player is mentally unable to handle the concept of being the hunted villian in town tied to this dark act. So... what do you think this poor hero's lot should be. Deathwatch
  14. there is no way to plan for the accidental or unplanned actions of the players. yes you can fudge the dice or allow for a miraculous luck roll, but it is not so much in the hands of the judge as it is in the hands of the player as to when they die and how. all heroes hope for the honored death that in turn defeats the enemy, but depending on the flavor of the game sometimes they just die. Heroes inspire the common man to do the uncommon task. You have seen it yourself this night at the hand of the child who killed your brother and scarred you for life; he acted from vengeance but will be seen as a hero by the people of the street. The whispers of weakness have started; soon the roar of their power will defeat you. You may kill me but through my actions the people of Hong Kong have defeated you. The Final Words of Deathwatch to Yao Ping before his death. the real thing to try for is to leave a memorable tag line as your slain, or at least one that will haunt the villain in the night.
  15. just a note I am building this campaign for a small crew of veteran players an i myself have over 20 Yrs experiance. the real reason for this thread is the basic concept that i may after all this time fall in a rut. thus i wanted to hear the what and hows of some of the other judges out there.
