  1. When making a multipower framework to be used as a character array of abilities do i put the gestures, focus, and incantation limitation on the multipower as well or just the individual powers? - Gestalt Gamer
  2. Re: An Electricity Hero question with the first blast you have listed here. would i do the normal damage for the physical weapon and then that blast damage or is that the whole deal right there?
  3. Hello all, I am creating a 300 point character for a low power hero game. In this particular game we cannot spend more than 100 ACTUAL points on powers. I am considering making an electric controller but I had some ideas that i dont know how to quantify correctly in the system. I am still new to the hero system, having only played class based systems in the past. Obviously i was going to take a blast I was also of having one of those extendable batons that i would charge up to do not only physical damage but some sort of stun or immobilization. I was wondering what would be the best way to do that. I also am not sure how to quantify perhaps the biggest powers i want. which is that i can charge up from electricity power sources to get my END back. basically like charging a battery. i also was thinking of having an overload power where i can fry electronics by hitting them with some juice Finally i was wondering if i could have that same stunning effect attached to my ranged blast / as well as being able to arc it or fork it between multiple targets any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Re: power design feedback alll good ideas thanx so much everyone
  5. Re: power design feedback thanx for the feedback
  6. Re: power design feedback its 85 total real points spent on all powers. and the mental group is to represent it dazing you because its so loud it is a low power game. the GM is balancing the other NPC supers using the same parameters he gave us doesnt the cone imply that the origin point is me?
  7. Re: power design feedback that is what i want then because it makes it so its pretty easy for me to hit everyone in my way. friend and foe alike. how does the rest of it look?
  8. Re: power design feedback does that mean that normally i would just make one attack roll against everyone
  9. just wanted some feedback im new to the system and here is my first run at creating a voice based sonic controller. new to his powers with the ability to stun, blast, and hypnotize people by modulating his voice and keeping someones attention. i used incantations on the boom and the scream to imply that i need to be able to use my voice to use my powers. the incantations without on the mind control implies that i need to keep talking and giving instruction or the hypnosis ends. i used cone to represent that sound traveles from a source in expanding waves. its not selective because he wouldnt be able to bend it around allies in the way. this is a total of a 300 point super game. with a max of 85 points for powers to start to represent new heroes. Sonic Boom: Blast 7d6, Area Of Effect Nonselective (10m Cone; +1/4) (44 Active Points); Incantations (-1/4) Scream: Hearing and Mental Groups Flash 7d6, Area Of Effect Nonselective (10m Cone; +1/4) (32 Active Points); Incantations (-1/4) Mind Control 6d6 (Human class of minds) (30 Active Points); Incantations (Requires Incantations throughout; -1/2) ----tell me what you think------ Constructive feedback only. I dont want to hear that im a noob
  10. Re: Looking for Some Input thank you its a good start im just trying to get a sense for different ways to put stuff together
  11. Re: Looking for Some Input James Bryant is a mechanical engineering grad student at NYU. he is one of two sons of a single mother. despite growing up poor, james isolated himself from alot of the activities of his peers and focused on his studies, acheiving a scholarship to NYU. he is young, idealistic, and overoptimistic about how much society can change. he like many people in this particular superhero world, do not know why he suddenly gained powers, he knows no one else who has them and has done moonlight hero work since shortly after gainging his powers. he avoids police, and has a secret identity thought he uses no superhero name. he supports himself by stunning and robbing drug dealers and other thugs and taking their money, before leaving htem for the police. he dislikes street crime and has dedicated his powers to dealing with it since his own brother is now serving a life sentence thanx to his involvement in a neo nazi gang. James does not share any of the bigotry of his family though he does feel a rather harsh hatred for gang criminals. (((((((300))))))) powerpoints. think XMEN where people are good at ONE thing and all their powers are offshots of that main thing. in my case the manipulation of electricity.
  12. Im set to finally play in a hero game. my group and I are new to both the hero system and 6th edition. I would humbly like to ask if anyone could help me make a lowpower superhuman character. the array of powers im looking for is electricity blast, the ability to charge up by soaking up Electricity, some sort of stun or disorient, some sort of drain but i dont know what stat i would be draining as an electric hero and maybe some sort of movement augementation either from turning into electricity or maybe speed based on used electricity to make my muscles fire faster. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  13. does anyone know when the bad guy books, particularly for champions will be released?
  14. Re: new to hero, looking for some guidance thanks guys for all the input, now that ive read alot of this stuff the character creation and the combining of the powers makes alot more sense
  15. Re: Excited about the system but totally unfamiliar thanks again man, i really appreciate all your help

    Super Names

Re: Super Names Bastion Danny Darkskies the Crimson Brawler The PUNisher (sonic controller) Tempest
  17. Re: new to hero, looking for some guidance thanks for all the help guys, you dont need to argue about the mimicry really because the player specifically doesnt want to be able to mimic superpowers, just be able to take on the stats and appearance of any animal, which is why that player wants martial arts and weapons to make up for the lack of offensive super powers
  18. Re: new to hero, looking for some guidance thanx for all the help guys, here are some clarifications..... I said i was looking at X-men for the type of powers people have, meaning people have one main power I am not running an X-men style game as far as world. Im running my own world which is not really like anything ive played before, so its hard to reference it. long story short the world is a dystopian society, akin to 1984 (the book) where the government has strong control over the media, curfews enforced, one political party, and endless war against the great enemy (in this case communism). so i want to set the stage that supers are part of the arms races, if you are discovered you serve in the military, the secret police, or you dissappear. most of the population fears the supers, but not because they are different but because they are the oppressive arm of the government. there are a few rebels, and costumed heroes but they are brandished traitors and terrorists by the government. all humans have the potential for powers but some the gene is strong enough to come up with gene therapy, most others the therapy required would kill them. So the starting point here is that the players were discovered by the medical examiners to have the potential to be supers. they all got blackbagged and brought to a gov lab. they wake up with powers strapped down to tables, as the resistance breaks into the lab and the guards leave them unattended. and i see where they take it.
  19. Re: new to hero, looking for some guidance Im using the 6th Ed character guide and combat and storytelling guide
  20. Im a new GM to the hero system. my players and I are psyched about the system and all the options, but also a little daunted. there is so much to get in my head, and without having played i dont know what makes good characters and how to advise my players on how to make what they are envisioning. we arent familiar with classless systems but are excited, we just have no idea what we are doing. i posted this in the Hero system forums and they said i should come here and humbly ask you fine people to give me some feedback on possible builds for the PCS. i want to run a Iron age, nitty gritty, dystopian kinda deal. (300 CP) one player wants to be a sword wielding agent, with a gambit of skills geared towards modern espionage with supernatural senses and reflexes one player wants to be a gravity manipulator who can deflect missiles , teleport, move objects, damage (implode) objects. a shapeshifter who can replicate any animal including other animals, with skills and equipment to make them survivable an oldschool super strongman who is tough, strong, and can jump high thanks for any help, looking forward to a new system
  21. Re: Excited about the system but totally unfamiliar ive tried several time to post in the champions forum, but my threads dont seem to be showing up even though it says im posting
  22. Im new to the hero system and my players and I are very excited for the freedom and awesome options of the hero system. however we are a little daunted and lost as up until now we have only played White Wolf and D&D. i was asking for some help on the system forum about character creation and someone suggested i post the basic character concepts here and ask you guys humbly to give me some direction or builds to help my players along until we get more familiar with the system. I am running a iron age campaign with 300 powerpoints, very dystopian and gritty. one Player wants to play a sword wielding martial artist with super senses, reflexes, and a gambit of hacking and espionage skills (super agent) Gravity controller who can teleport, move objects, fly, create areas of no light, deflect missiles and blows. Shapeshifter who can assume the form of any animal including other humans, with skills and equipment for protection. an oldschool superman type (strong, tough, jumps high) no xrays, speed, flight, lasers thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated
  23. Re: Excited about the system but totally unfamiliar so far I have one player that wants to play a sword wielding martial artist with scientifically augmented reflexes and tons of skills. another player wants to play a gravity controller who's power is the ability to create and control singularities (teleportation, flight, blast, telekineses, etc) Another player wants to play a shapeshifter that can turn into any animal including other humans.
  24. Re: Excited about the system but totally unfamiliar thats a really good idea. thanx i will do that....
