  1. Re: Cutting the Drama Out of Character Creation

In any case' date=' the genre is a paranormal game with supernatural/science fiction elements working together. Players are typically around 150 base, generally set up with one power/a small suite of powers and the rest is skills/attributes as the player likes.[/quote']

...hmm. I was about to ask if you were using a 6th Edition Supers setting, so I could HIGHLY recommend the new Champions book (it has a great set of rapid-build templates in the back for making all sorts of balanced super-heroic characters in a matter of minutes instead of hours)...still might be worth your time to look at it...

  2. Re: Mundane Item Buildng: Rope

My first thought was a multipower with an Entangle and Swinging and Stretching' date=' etc. but I think Mattingly has a very elegant solution with TK. My only addition might be to give it a built-in Power Skill roll (rope tricks!) so you can pull off stunts that might be a little outside of the normal TK effect (like making a makeshift fuse with rope and gasoline).[/quote']

The TK sounds like a great and simple solution. I would have made it far more complex...a VPP 'Rope Tricks' that's built into an independent OAF (rope).

The Hero System setting book Gestalt is about the best thing I've seen for doing a campaign based on avatars of concepts. I really recommend it.

...thanks for the recommendation. Looked decent, so I picked it up through RPGNow...

Nice thread. I'm starting a campaign for a group that wants to be villains, and the few initial character concepts I've received seem to fit well with a 'seven deadly sins' theme. The discussion here so far has been helpful - thanks to all who have participated. I'd already begun looking at 'In Nomine' before reading the earlier post about it - good stuff. The player characters will have already been poster-children for their respective sins before coming together as a group. Greed and Sloth are spoken for (and are in good hands from what I've seen so far), and I've seen two potential builds for Rage (personally I was thinking a dark version of Alpha Flight's Shaman would work well, but I liked one player's idea for a Speedster that was in a constant rage due to how slow everything else around him is moving). The players are not limited to choosing from just the main 7, but it seems to be the way this is forming. Lots yet to do...

  5. Re: The Ultimate Base

There seems to be a map missing. The Justice Mansion indicates that the medical wing has a separate map. The only separate map is for the Conference room wing. Is that a typo or did a map get left out? Is there a way to get that map?

    What about the missing map?

...I see it too, my new book is the same...perhaps they'll be kind enough to post it for us somewhere on their website. Even though it's not a BIG issue, it's really frustrating to spend so much on a book to then find things like that missing. I bought one of the 5th edition core hard-covers that had several missing pages - that really burnt me on Hero for quite a while. Kinda annoying that nobody has answered your question, instead choosing to focus solely on the distribution issue.
