The point about writing out what the power does before sitting down to "system" it is perfect, and one I'm going to impress upon my players. Heck, I'll probably just point them at this thread.

Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings The difference, as I see it, is all to do with consequences. In a superhero genre, Batman and Spiderman fight crime until the sun burns out and there are always more crime bosses, super villains and myriad problems to face. People with powers realize that, long term this gets absurd, and focus on the initial changes, the impact of powers on a normal life, and usually some overplot that gives the characters something to fight against. Really, pwp is the same genre done more gritty, personal and .... I can't think about the last quality. in terms of an rpg, it's about power level, and how serious the GM feels.

Re: Looking to buy Champions RPG 6th Edition. I just picked up Champions Complete myself and am very happy with it. Reminds me of my old blue cover Champions book, lots of fun from that one!
