Oh, how I miss the days when certain people were too busy to be buttheads...

Don't you have a mother to go visit or something?

Gee...and only 5 posts ago you were glad I was back. You should really see a doctor about that manic nature of yours. I am no longer going to send you those "Kiss Me Here" boxer shorts for Valentine's Day. You are off my list.

  2. Re: Fuzion

After seeing the Fuzion rules set mentioned in the back of HERO 5th' date=' I felt intrigued enough to hunt a copy down and buy it. I purchased [i']Fuzion Powered Multigenre Roleplaying Tool[/i] for all of 8 dollars, and fell in love with the system.

While I still feel that HERO is by far and away the better of the two systems, Fuzion is far less crunchy and, to my mind at least, easier to tinker with. Has anyone had much experience with Fuzion? How does it play, compared to HERO?

--and to Mr. Long, I only posted this here because your core rulebook mentions Fuzion as a "child" of HERO NB

I was introduced to Fuzion "Champions: New Mellenium" before being introduced to HERO. I have not played Fuzion in about 10 years, so I can't remember specifics. I remember when I first bought the HERO 5th Edition book I thought, "Wow, this is a lot like Fuzion" The skills are almost identical. Power constructs are pretty similar (with limitations and adders). In fact, there are a lot of fuzion power constructs out there that could easily be HERO.

The main thing I remember about playing Fuzion is that people died more often. STUN damage rolled over into killing more, so you had to really watch yourself with normals (STUN/5 I do believe). Many members of the super team I was on had to go into counseling for killing normals. Guns were LETHAL! Even superheroes with armor had reason to fear the automatic weapons (although there was a "dial" you could set in the rules to alter the rule for guns).

I get confused between the two sometimes while I am playing HERO because they are so similar. I have to constantly look at the rulebook to recall the differences.

    Hope that helps some.

Um. NGD is Non Gaming Discussion. That can be Religion, Politics, Social Chit Chat, Movies, Naval Lint, or pointless arguing. Oh wait, that last one was covered.

I used to get more involved with the political threads, but it often is just the same positions with a new layer of cheap paint on it. That gets old real fast.

I'm here for the gaming threads and some social chit chat.

Indeed! After observing the political banter for over a year (Yes, I have been in observe mode) I also support this position. Each political thread I read has the same names padding their posting numbers and patting each other on the back for sticking with their same opinion time and again. Perhaps I missed a thread where someone actually changed their mind. Maybe a thread actually went by without resorting to name calling.

I'm not saying that the political threads should not be there for those pointless arguments, but the reason that the NGD exists - hardly. It exists for gamers to come out of the woodwork and annouce - "Hey I just changed my screen name and now I am a 15 year old cheerleader!" or "Hey, that person that you thought you knew for 6 years, well, they don't really exist. Did you at least like the pictures?"

Oh...and for talk of body parts and waxing rhapsodic about the various uses of Cottonelle, because it IS cottony soft!

Heh...it's just one of those things, I guess. I'm not necessarily tired as much as I just didn't wanna go out today. It was (is) at a bar, and while I'd love to sit and hang with some of the folks there (and drink, of course, and eat--lotsa food was gonna be there), I just wasn't in the mood.

Of course, when the game started I seriously considered headin' over, but then I knew I'd catch a lot of flack, not to mention I'd be way behind in alcohol consumption.

I guess I'm just getting older...and a rousing :tonguewav to Gewing for pointin' that out.

Dave, how am I supposed to live vicariously through your actions when you sit at home on the eve of the big game? So sad...you may as well get a wife and some kids and settle down at this point.

Did your alcohol consumption at least pick up during the game, not to puking levels mind you, but were you carrying at least a little buzz when the Eagles demonstrated their piss poor clock management at the end??
