  1. I was watching the new show Navy NCIS the other day, one of the characters name is Blackadder, and I couldn't stop thinking of Rowan Atkinson every time they said her name. Maybe it's time for Blackadders fifth? And doesn't Navy NCIS stand for Navy Navy Criminal Investigative Service, a rather redundant title if you ask me.

  2. In an old campaign of mine I had a friend join a group of adventurers who were already about 5th or 6th level. My friend created a gnome mage who was to be the apprentice of the parties other magic-user.

During a fight with a large group of monsters, the higher level mage cast a Fireball spell without taking into account the area of effect, thereby catching the first level mage, Skibley, in the blast.

Unable or unwilling to pay for a resurection, the party carried the remains back to the Gnomish village, went to the deceased house, and dropped the bag of remains on the table, and unable to speak gnomish simply pointed to the bag and said to the bewildered parents "Skibley".

After which there was much crying and wailing.

  3. A 'Broken Arrow' code used during the Viet Nam war meant that an american unit was about to be overrun by enemy forces and it was a shout for help from every available fighter/bomber to converge on the coordinates and attack (see the movie ' we were soldiers' or read the book 'we were soldiers once, and young')

As to your dilema, how about an INT check with various modifiers for terrain to recover lost arrows, then how about assigning a DEF and BODY rating to the arrow (ex. 2 DEF / 1 BODY) and any arrow doing damage over that amount is destroyed.

If you want to get really tricky assign a different rating to the arrowhead itself, to simulate the difference between the metal arrowhead and the wooden shaft, that way a character with a fletching skill wouldnt have to keep using up / buy

arrowheads for every arrow he/she created.

  4. Not sure if this belongs here or on the HD board but here's my question anyway. Is there a list of pre-generated equipment in the Hero Designer software or if my character buys a battle axe do I have to build it from the ground up? (real weapon, 1 1/2 d6 HKA... etc)
