  1. Howdy! I have some basic entangle questions... 1) I have found in the basic hero book that you can use casual strength to breeak free of an Entangle. Can you use your normal Strength? What type of action does it take to do that? 2) What exactly does the advantage "Entangle takes no Damage from Attacks" mean? Does this mean that a character cannot use his casal STR to escape? How would you get out of such an entangle? Thanks!
  2. Re: Expanding Shield Bubble Howdy! I did two different versions, not sure which I like best. The first is a straight Force Wall with 0 END Advantage and No Range Limitation so it came out like this: Airfield: FW (8 PD/6 ED; 6" long and 1" tall), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (67 Active Points); No Range (-1/2) The second I built Like this: Defensive Powers: Multipower, 45-point reserve 3u 1) Air Field: FF (12 PD/8 ED), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) 4u 2) Larger Airfield: FW (8 PD/6 ED; 6" long and 1" tall) The Multi-power does allow the character to have a personal defense and then expand the area at the cost of endurance to protect those around thim. (Need to go back and add in no range limitation on it though) Which do you guys think is better?
  3. Howdy! There is a character concept one of my players came up with that utilzes density powers and he wants to increase the Density of the air to protect him (as per UNTIL Powers Database) but also wants to be able to expand the protection to include those near by. How would you construct such a defense that you can expand to a bubble like area to protect an area?
  4. Howdy! First of all let me say I am not the most well versed Champions player so I occassionally come up with odd questions. Here goes: As I was scanning through my copy of Gadgets and Gear I came to the Questionatie Shield on page 100. My question is this; How does "Requires a Skill Roll" affect game play with the shield's armor slot? Does this mean that anytime you are attack you get to make a skill roll to benefit from the armor? Is it better to build a shield with "Requires Skill Roll" or would "Activation" work better for such a device? Also in a nomal 350 pt champions game, what is the upper limit of defense one should really have without unbalancing a game? Thanks!
  5. While I was watching Teen Titans the other day Starfire used her energy blast power to seal a door and I was wondering how you would do something like that in the champions system. (I am relatively new to the Champions system) Is there a basic rule that covers it? Would you buy the EB in a specfic way to do that?
  6. Re: Supervillain Images wow! All the artwork is cool! A few of the villians look like they would be from the Justice League Animated Show! What are you guys using to color them?
  7. Re: Speedster Concept and Creation Question Howdy! I would like to think everyone for thier suggestions! Though I still need some help and want to bounce ideas off the group since you guys are far more experienced in Champions that I am. I spoke to the player and learned the following: A) 1 dose of the alien drug makes him radioactive and has no other major side effects. Also each dose lasts about an hour. If he doubles the dose, he gains addition speed and strength and becomes "rage like focused" on the reason he doubled dosed. C) The third dose also increases his speed and strength again and starts to kill him. D) Anyone else who takes the alien drug also gains the abilities. Here is what I have come up with: Since the basic dose doesn't have any real side effects I decided to purchase the initial abilities as OHID. I think "Idependant" would be an appropiate disads as well since he has just the one large metorite of the drug. Since taking the drug makes him radioactive I used Radium as a guide line and purchased Drain Con 1D6 with the disad of "Only when on Drug and not in containment suit" which I rated at -1. Since I bought the majority of his speedster abilities (Entangle, Dodging Bullets, Dizzing Spin, I'll Take those Disarm and Hyper throwing) as Elemental control pool I am not sure if I should also apply the indepenant modifier to them since I cannot decide if the speedster tricks come from the speed or the creative ability of the user. Now, we come to the boostable abilities of the drug. I have deteremiend that it should be done in two steps granting a bonus to speed and Strength. The first one should have the side effect of "Enradged" and the second one should be a damage. The question is, what would be the best way to build that? Would two different AIDs to STR and SPD be a better way than a Partially limited power? Thoughts? Questions?
  8. Howdy! I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I am getting setup to run a champions game (200 plus 150 disads). One of my players have come up with a concept that I am not quite sure hwo to approach rules wise. The character is a speedster. The strange thing for me is not the speedster abilities but how he achieves his power. The character gets his power from dosing up on alien drugs. The more he takes the faster he becomes. He is the kicker... too much of the alien drug in a day will kill him. Do how would you set something up like that? I have toyed with the idea of using either partially limited power advantage or limited power disadvantage. Thoughts?
