Re: Introduction I plan on doing Champions - but not yet. I haven't played in years, and the bulk of my GMing was with fantasy, so it's a comfortable way to get back in the saddle.

I have been lurking throughout the forums (more than lurking in NGD) here to learn about the game and read the answers to others' questions, and am gaining a lot of info. I'm gonna run fantasy first to get back into the swing of things; I'm just waiting for a couple books to arrive. Well, back to Drifting . . .

Re: A Thread for Random Musings *sigh* I'm playing guitar tonight and again Sunday. I'm doing acoustic stuff, and was looking forward to playing my Seagull dreadnought - it has such a beautiful sound - but it's scheduled to rain both days. The case should protect it tonight but I still hate to take it out in rain, and Sunday I'm playing outside, so I definitely have to play something else then.

But, my motto has always been, "You gotta do something, even if its wrong" and believe it or not it's usually pretty darn good, even if I do look like an ass half the time. I figure, I do my best, you do your best, no one can complain, and we can just keep going. Time to drift . . .

Re: Cross-gender roleplaying I tend to roleplay characters who rely more on stealth and intelligence thatn brawns and stamina. Rather than play the same slender fella all the time, I have on occasion played a petite female character. Only once did it really go awry - and it was a bit disturbing. I don't like sex being part of the RPG experience. Romance can make for some great opportunities, but leave sex out of it please! What goes on behind closed doors can stay there, and not on my character sheet.

Re: Introduction Thanks guys! I'm no stranger to web forums, so I have a good idea what to expect! I'm often a bit of a smartass myself! And, yeah - start em young! My son can now kick my butt in quake and stuff, but in strategy games I still show him that old and slow aint all bad. But I think a bit of RPGin will be a good family event.

Hello folks! I am new here, and haven't even lurked yet. I haven't role-played in a few years, but my son is showing interest so I plan on running something soon. I still buy RPGs from time to time, one of which is HERO, because I want something that will cover multiple genres. Between Fantasy, Chamopions, and Star I should be all set. Anyhoo, here I am.
