  1. Still a bit new to Champions/Hero System 6ed. For my players, I put in place a 90Active Point Limit. Now, I am trying to get my head around how this impacts Defences of various sorts. 1) Are various Defences added together for purposes of meeting the Active Point Limit? For example, If I/a player buys a straight 30PD and 30ED have I hit the Active Point Limit? Or can I actually get my PD up to 60 and also my ED up to 60(wow!). 2) What if I also want to buy Resistant Flash Defence or add other Resistant Defences into the "mix" Mental Def, Power Def, Entalge Def, etc... 3) What if I want to buy Resistant Defence, and then some Regular Defence as a power? 4) What if I want to buy Resistant Physical Defence, and other Defencive powers, like Absorption, Damage Negation or Damage Reduction. Are these powers each handled on their own with regard to the limit, or are defensive power Active Points all combined when compared against the Active Point limit? I do understand that at the end of the day, the GM should make his rulings based on whats best for the game.. but it helps me to make rulings by knowing what the intent of the rules are!! Thanks Mike
  2. I am a little confused about how I am intended to impose our campaign's Active Point Limit on our Superheroic characters. Our limit is 80, as per the guidelines in the rulebook. Here's my confusion: There is PD, ED, Mental D, Power D, Flash D, and even more unusual defences. Then there is Resistant Protection, which can be applied to all or any of these. Then on top of that, there is Damage Negation and Damage Reduction ond other "defensive powers". 1) So... what should I be combining for purpose of applying the AP Limit? ((And here are the Questions for the Bonus Round! In the Character Creation Guidelines, there are ranged listed for all the Characteristics, Defences, Damage Classes, etc... 2) When reviewing a character that has Absorption, do you look at the upper limit of absorbed ability when comparing to the guidelines, or do you ony look at the base values? 3) If the Guidlienes are for a 14 Damage Class Max, and a Character brings in a character with 15 STR and a 4D6 HKA, does the +3 DC for Str make the character in violation of the guidelines?
  3. Re: Mind Scan + MCVs Ah... Multipower is a good thought! Any other good reasons? To Matt: Mental Combat Skill Levels are only 1 point.
  4. << errr... that should read "MIND" Scan + MCVs >> Hello, Mind Scan offers +1 MCV for 2 points. Can anybody tell me why I would do this instead of simply buying 1 point Mental Combat Skill Levels for Mind Scan?
  5. I am pulling my hair out trying to understand how the calculations were done in Star Hero to figure out the point costs of the VPP sensor pool and the naked megarange advantage. pg 248 if it helps 46 points sensor VPP 40 pool 40 control OIF Bulky (-1), Only for Senses and Communication (-.25), Costs END (-.5) 85 points Megascale (1 Active Point = 1 Light Year) (4.25) for any Sensor Pool Sense, OIF Bulky (-1) Please feel free to explain in slow, step by step math
