  1. Re: Chimpira's Art Dump

    I like it (rep).

She looks sad and haunted. A flawed character - very nice.

Oh, and everything else is great too. The bunch of dudes in a circular layout looks great (post before the sad Angel Fae).

Thanks. The mood is what I was looking for, it is just that I know I could draw the face better and I over rendered the hair, which tends to distract from the piece as a whole. I usually just drop my inks over my pencils but I want to start keeping my pencils so I am working with a new light board and since I have not used a light board in over three years I need to put some more practice in. Thanks for the kind feedback.

Phalanx explaining to the long absent Promise the situation that they are currently trying to deal with.

Phalanx: Remember that Drug ring we took on about six months ago?

    Promise: Yeah.

Phalanx: Well the situation didn't take care of itself.

Whew! It has been a very busy month for me. I moved to a new place and I am in the process of going to england for a few days to see my mother, whom has been living in Quwait for the last year and a half. She has decided to stay for another year, as well. I did some work for Digital hero. (Thanks Dave!) I have been working on my coloring and I have been cranking out more art that is just dying to be inked and colored. ok This is the inks for my cover of Digital Hero #42 and here is another pic that I drew just to work on my coloring.

  4. Re: Failure and the PCs

Well in most my campaigns the element of failure is played up majorly.

That is not to say that my players always fail, but I like that they know that I will let them. Their actions are reflected in the game world and the consequences of those actions frequently come back to haunt them. PC's and NPC's have died in my game, not frequently, but enough times to know that sometimes rushing head long into combat is not always the best course of action.

I am not ruled by the dice roll. Sometimes you need to have certain things bend to genre. If a player is falling out of a building, of course their is a flag pole or gargoyle to grab hold of. If you make the roll that is.

I find that instead of having a low moral my players generally rise to the occassion and go all out especially when it's crunch time.

Hey Chimpira, really like what you are doing.

Just me being a nudge... lets see some color happening on these. They are easy to color in photoshop or painter with your clean line!!!! I can so see an anime two/three tone treatment happening on your art.

    And please, keep posting!!!

No, I totally agree. I was planning on doing some. I am currently practicing on my coloring right now.

More great stuff Chimpira. I especially like Twin Swords.

Thanks, glad you like them. I am starting to get a better feel for this so I hope I can start doing cleaner work and more elaborate pieces.

  7. Re: My Pulp art

As your art is excellent, I'm gonna ask, cause I know others are thinking it...

What to you charge for commisions?

Not certain. Try sending me a private message and we can talk about what you have in mind.

  8. Re: Chimpira's Art Dump

Time for several new pieces. Let's start off with somethng a little weird. Ever had one of those days when an image will not get out of your head. Well, I had this one for a 70's disco detective named Buck Wylde. My fro never got that big as a kid but it was up there. He may look cheesy but I kind of want to do a strip with him as a 70's version of Hercules Poirot or Ellery Queen. Once he was down my mind said, "Well, while you are in the neighborhood.."

So I drew up Buck's sidekick, the tough talking Youngblood, his nemesis, The Mack and one of Mack's henchmen, Mister Pit. Mister Pit is kind of inspired by Philo Beddoe from Every which way but loose.

The Twilight Kid actually morphed from my pulp stuff and so I kept the name of the main villian but drastically changed his look. So this is The Bishop Mark II. This is something that I call Twilight Boogie.

Here are some headshots I did while goofing and the rest of this stuff is kind of old. The headshots are of Twilight Kid and Maya. A big pic of Twilight Kid and him in a different coat with his Multigun.
