  1. Looking at my copy just recently. Has anyone tried running a campaign?

I've run several over the decades. As others have mentioned it can get bloody wicked fast. Most of my players quickly learned the fine art of taking cover and not blazing away from the middle of the street.

This is one of the books that I can only wish will come back. I seriously doubt that there is a strong market for the genre among Hero gamers.

  2. Re: How to Read the Firearms Table

Firearms are much like cars in the sense that what a person wants in one is very personal. Some people really like 9mm and others will sneer at anything that isn't a .45 ACP. Don't try to figure out what "personality" goes with what gun or caliber. Just pick one.

Now as for the weapon your character has. The only issue that I have with it is that it would be next to impossible to carry concealed. As a hip holster in plain view there is no problem. But between the suppressor and the laser sight you start adding lots of bulk. If it is something that the PC only carries into combat then no biggie. If that is his walking around town weapon...well it will get noticed and that will make life uncomfoortable for the PC.

  3. Re: Generation Ship Campaigns

Let's turn it around. How would you run such a campaign? What would a sample adventure* be like?

I've been toying with an idea of RPGing a closed society with the characters being newly-minted cops when a serial murder takes place. They spend the time both investigating the murder and dealing with a panicked population. A generational ship would be an ideal setting for it.
