  2. Is there a way in V4 to do either a permanent characteristic drain on say Strength? Also how wold you do a temporary CON Drain? Thanks!
  3. Re: Totally Unstoppable? Interesting point Dust Raven. In our world I think every creature from hell would have to be killed there. So that would not even have to be bought? Hum.... (Exceptions might be if you found a way to trap their essence and destroy it on this plane. Holy items, rituals, etc. also might work.) @SirViss This particular demon had extra dimensional movement. I know that is a *STOP* but this is a villian, so we allow it in our game. The Demon is a hunted for a hero, and shows up about every 8 game sessions in some form or another. There is not always a battle as it is very intelligent, and cunning. Fighting only when you have to, it is just trying to fulfill it's purpose.

  5. Not really, but here is what I am looking to get an opinion on. I have a demon in our game. My idea is that you can only kill it while in hell. Otherwise if killed on this plain, is banished back to hell for say 182.5 days. Since it is a Hunted, would you actually build it and charge points? If so how do you build that? I like a modified resurrection but We are using V4 rules, so i can't use resurrection. Or would you just call it special effect, and not charge points? Thanks!
  6. We have a blaster in our games that attacked the bad guys in the middle of their monolog. Well right after since we said talk is free. My question is, can you take the first shot, before any comabt starts? Or after the bad guy enters the scene do you immediately go to segment 12 and let them talk. Then combat proceeds in normal order, even if some one blurts out "BLAST" I am guessing even though he is talking, the villian is still ready, and if faster gets first shot no matter what.

  8. Re: What I learn playing a GM. I was just waiting for all the great quotes to die down before posting. If new quotes are added I will up date the file after enough are placed. As of the first draft I organized the post in alphabetical order according to creator. As well as combined all posts from the same creator under one name.   9. Re: My Son What's To Play Here is a strange update. My son came in on Thursday and went off to do his own thing. About 30 minutes later one of the guys asked where he was? I think they missed him, LOL
  10. Re: VERY new GM seeking Powers help... I would like ot make the suggestion to buy the Hero Designer Program. It will say you so much time. It walks you though every build and lets you make changes with ease.
  11. Re: My Son What's To Play Yep let him play. I too have a 10 year old and our weekly game lasts from 7-11:30. He comes in form Taekwondo at 8:15 I let him into the game till 9:00 and then scoot him out. I just make sure nothing age approprate does not happen when he is in. Ok that was the simple answer here is the better one. Right now you are a hero in his eyes. What better thing to do than step up and share a little time in an activaty that you like, with him. He will rememebr that when he grows up and build a nice bond between you two. When you look at it that way there is no down side to letting him sit in. And hey, when you 90 and in the old folks home. He just may stop in with his buds and let you play Hero Systems V72 for an hour. :-)
  12. Re: Sorry I am tied up now. Oops sorry we are using V4. So we do not have naked modifier. Darn! The entangle used was an old time entangle. Rope with balls on it. Since there was no other combat going on and considering the space between the ropes we thought that an out of combat placed sword hit would by pass the entangles defences and do damage directly. Since the rules said nothing about damage to a helpless character we just added one extra die of damage which really wasn't that much. I thought it should have been more. My thought process was that even with normals in a knife fight the damage cold range from scratches to serious for 1 attack. But against someone helpless it wold be life threatening. For such a good system I was disappointed that damage was so low for a helpless victim. The reason I am bringing this up is for future episodes where villains could have a weapon to a hero or normals throat if they were tied up.
  13. Re: Sorry I am tied up now. This was one of those rare times where killing the opponent was mandatory. Anyway We are playing V4.5 so we do not have the named modifier. At this time we have not been using body location, since that slows up combat. Do most of you use them? Maybe we should start?
  14. If a hero or Villain was tied up with an entangled, and someone came up to them with a sword or knife. Would that weapon do more damage to a helpless captive?
  15. Re: What I learn playing a GM. You guys are lucky. I got involved with a World chain Black Belt factory thats primany goal is to promote and make money on over priced testing. I have since learned my lesson on what to look for. @Dust Raven - So all aikido belts of the same rank are just about the same skill level anywhere around the world? You do not have any 12 year old Balck Belts?
